Q: iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

I had the exact same problem (see my previous post).  One hour of AppleCare chat, we figured it out.  It was my case!  I took the iPhone 6 out of the Speck "Candy Shell" case, and WALLA!  Bluetooth works like a champ!  Wi-Fi is faster than ever now (I was having all kinds of network errors, not just Bluetooth. . .).  Case off, problem solved!

Consider yourself fortunate.  But given your post and those of a few others, I wonder whether others with a problem have restored their old setup from the iPhone 5 to the new iPhone 6.  In my case, I have not upgraded to the 6 yet - I only upgraded the 5 to iOS 8.  The phone connected without any problems with iOS 7, but not with 8.  Since others have wiped their phone to get at least some sort of connection, it seems possible that (at least in my case) this is an upgrade problem within Apple's iOS update.  While I am not interested in wiping out my phone right now (if I do, I will return to iOS 7), the key may be that clearing all the bluetooth coding on the phone is what is needed.  I would be interested to know if those who have this finally working but had an issue before used the Restore for all their old settings and apps when they first set up their iPhone 6.

I Had same problem with my iphone 6. It would pair to my 2014 Toyota Highlander but phone would not work with Bluetooth.  Very frustrating. I talked to Apple tech support as well as techie at Toyota dealership. Neither one could help me.  i tried everything.  Finally Tonight I went into iPhone 6 settings - then clicked on general, scroll down to bottom to to Reset. then click on "Reset all Settings".  make sure you delete device on Bluetooth first so everything starts from scratch.  My phone is now working through Bluetooth on my truck.  Took me all day to get it done though.

iPhone 5 with iOS 8 worked fine, iPhone 6 is not working. 2011 Lexus IS 350.

I have an iphone 6 that is not connecting to my 2010 ford edge with microsoft sync.  I have tried everything on this list, and it's getting ridiculous.  Going to the Settings and erasing all the network settings worked ONE TIME, then I went back out to the car to try it again, and it won't connect again.  This is RIDICULOUS!  Why would Apple release a product with software that has so many issues?  So many people use hands-free technology in their car now, and this basically renders it useless!  I can't call anyone in the car now, since it's illegal in California to use anything but a hands-free device.  Apple, you need to get this fixed asap, or if I get a ticket, I'm sending YOU the bill!

I did what ever everyone suggested, reset all setting, reset network setting, deleting from car memory.   It's works fine after you reset it and reconnect to the car with fresh new connection at first, but after I power the phone off and turn it back on, boom the problem comes back.  It's got to be a IOS 8 issue.  I did this 3 times and I am getting sick and tired of it so I am going to restore and set up as a new iPhone from Itune and wait and see how Apple is going to fix this issue.

I have 3 cars and the Bluetooth is having the same issue on all of them, work first then no more even with the suggest tricks.  I hate my iPhone 6 now.

Oh I forget to mention, My wife's iPhone 5 with IOS 8 have no issue at all with all 3 of the car. Only my iPhone 6.

Ditto.  Finally got mine working.

All I did was the following.  Unpaired the phone.  Removed my car from Bluetooth settings and did a "Reset all Settings".  Works great now.

I have a 2014 Cadillac ATS that I have only have 1500 miles on. My iphone 5s worked great with the Bluetooth CUE system. I got the iPhone 6 on Friday and it will not connect at all. I have the owners manual and followed the directions, even though I know how it is supposed to be paired. It is driving me crazy that it will not work.

I tried the iphone 6 on my 2013 Honda Accord. Same story with u. Hope Apple can fix it soon.

Thanks for the post. I was about to reset everything as well, but based on your comment I don't see a point.

I got my phone last Friday, all was well. The Bluetooth pairing worked without issue. Music and calls came through. All of a sudden yesterday, no calls. Music still works, but the ticket I will get for using my phone isn't worth it. I hope they resolve this sooner than later.

I updated my phone to 8.0.1 (the one that was briefly released today) and tried it again in my car. Bluetooth calling works, but music streaming is still choppy. It will play a few songs (doesn't matter if the song is local to the phone, on iTunes Match or even coming from a third-party streaming service like Pandora) and then it will start to cut out. Very annoying.

At this point, I've determined that it's a problem that's specific to my iPhone 6, iOS8 and my specific Alpine head unit (the CDE-154BT). I've tried streaming music to a bluetooth speaker (SoundKick) and to another Alpine head unit in my wife's car and they all appear to work okay. I've tried older iPhones running iOS8 and they can stream audio without problems to my car.

I've tried resetting the phone to factory settings, resetting all settings, resetting network settings, etc but still ultimately the same choppy audio.

I still believe that this is a software issue, I'm hoping that someone at Apple can at least confirm this for us and promise that a fix is pending.

Well... Crap.... My Bluetooth in my iPhone 6 in my 2015 BMW 435i was working perfectly until today. I happened to be using my phone when the 8.0.1 update came out. I installed it and rebooted my phone only to find "no service" and my TouchID wasn't working like everyone else that installed it. So I downloaded the IPSW to restore the phone back to iOS 8.0. I did this over the next hour or so and then needed to leave. I got in my car and re-set up all the bluetooth components in my car and thought it was working. Well.... It's not... When I make a phone call I hear the first ring or so and then it says call ended on my car and on the phone it still appears connected, but the conversation has to be switched to the handset to continue it.

I had never experienced this issue before 8.0.1 and now even after the restore back to 8.0 I am hosed. I have reset all the settings in my car as well as the phone's bluetooth multiple times. I'm guessing that the IPSW didn't restore some firmware setting that changed. I can't believe this update made it through Apple QA.

So I've had the same issue since getting my iPhone 6 last Friday and have tried wiping the networking settings, all the settings, and erasing everything and starting from scratch. Still had the same issue where my phone would connect, but the car would show no bars and it would hang up immediately after calling someone. Incoming calls would ring but the voice would never come through the speak. Because of Apple's botched 8.0.1 patch this morning that killed the cell connection on the phone, my phone was unusable as a phone so I reinstalled 8.0 from scratch through iTunes and that did it. Phone works perfectly now in the car.

Did you restore from iCloud or just do the iTunes restore without an iCloud restore. I tried using an IPSW of iOS 8 and my phone is still hosed on the connection to my car.
