Q: No cellular service after ios8 update

After updating my iPad 2 it has no service (ATT). Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do I fix it?

To downgrade the IOS you need to go to go here..www downloadblog com download/   You'll need to put periods and forward slashes in this url as needed.  Download the correct file and save to your hard drive.  Restore it through iTunes.  When you go to restore, you will need to use the ctrl or alt key when you click to allow you to select the IOS image file (.ipsw) from your download folder.

Bad advice. Apple stopped signing iOS 7 weeks ago so the device will not activate.

Apple stops iOS 7.1.2 code signing- restricts downgrading from iOS 8

Even if they were still signing iOS 7 you would not be able to restore from your iOS 8 backup.

If you are having problems with iOS 8, create a discussion explaining the problem.

We may be able to help.

May very well be bad advice, but it worked for me.

I cannot explain it other than the fact that I did this on 9/25.  I was ready to give up on my iPad and had in fact ordered a new one and decided to give one last shot.  I have gotten bad advice from Apple now at the Genius bar and now here regarding their IOS signing because I was able to downgrade.

I am not necessarily recommending you do it because they very well may have announced they were going to stop signing well before they actually implemented it.  As with anything make sure you have a good backup before trying anything.  I was able to restore apps, contacts, etc from iCloud,. Just giving an account of my experience only.
