Q: iOS 8 Wi-Fi problems

WI-Fi problems on iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display and iPhone 5S after upgrading to iOS 8.

Typical results from OOKLA Speedtest before upgrade: Ping 17 ms, Upload 21 Mbps, Download 4.4 Mbps

Typical results after upgrade: Ping 39 ms, Download 2.9 Mbps, Upload 0.47 Mbps

iPad 2 with iOS 7.1.2 get 15 Mbps download and 4.4 upload on the same network.

Resetting network settings on the iOS 8 devices did not improve the performance.

Changing band on the router from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz did give me back the speed on all devices.

However the speed occasonally drops on the iOS 8 devices, and the signal strengt can go from full til lost connection without moving the devices.

Also sometimes the Wi-Fi SweetSpots app report 0 mbps when the signal strenght is indicated as full and then suddenly go up to around 58 Mbps again.

It is almost like the device is trying to use cellular network that I do not have on the iPads before it suddenly switches back to Wi-fi nettwork again.

I am thinking about going back to my iPad 2 with iOS 7.1.2 that is working perfectly until the Wi-Fi issues are resolved.

Any help will be very much appreciated!

Anyone with wi-fi problems tried 8.4? (so Philly_Phan this is NOT addressed to you) interested to see if any improvement.

8.4 does not address any alleged WiFi problems.

True to form, and I have to give you some small credit for consistency here, I deliberately said this was not addressed to you, but you just could not resist and had to reply with a response which is not relevant. Please read the question I asked, then see if you answered it.

    What case is that?

Instead of resting, why don't you do something constructive?

"Constructive", why don't you lead the way instead of endlessly trolling these threads?

WWhy are you spending your time trolling the forum responding to posts instead of scurrying to the nearest Apple Store?

Funny. Went last weekend, they offered to set up an appointment to look at the phone on a weekday during normal business hours. All I had to do was take an unpaid day off from work. No thanks.

When I logged out tonight, got a survey from apple to fill in about my experience of the forum - here is my response which I'd like to share :

I am sick to the back teeth with trolls on this forum. Any criticism of Apple or in particular Apple products, is frequently met with abuse which sometimes has been very personal (not to me but I've seen others who were not so lucky). I have been suffering from Wi-Fi issues since ios 8.0 and I asked a genuine question today on the ios 8 Wi-Fi problem forum whether anyone who suffers from these Wi-Fi problems has seen any improvement since loading 8.4. All I got was a response from someone who has stated previously he doesn't have Wi-Fi problems gloating that 8.4 does not address Wi-Fi issues and his devices are all ok. If Apple are serious about these support forums and view these as a major part of their support repertoire then they need to get a grip and sort this out. Call it what you want, but some of the activity I've seen can be considered as abuse. I'm sure a lot of people who are not perhaps as thick skinned as myself, are put off from raising questions or issues having viewed or experienced this anti-help/anti-social behaviour. If Apple want a mutual self-help forum ,then please police these forums more forcibly.

When I had a reason to visit with the resident "Genius" at the Apple Store, I made an appointment for a weekend.
