iphone 6 connectivity issues 2013 Honda CR-V

After deleting all old phone data, there is limited connectivity between newly connected iPhone 6 and Handsfree Link on CR-V. Phone is connected, voice tags set up, car makes calls, then call reverts to phone. Music plays from phone through speakers. Have tried altering accessibility settings, no permutation works.

I don't think it's an ios8 issue. iphone5 was updated to ios8 on 9/17, no handsfree link issues.

I'm unable to receive text messages. Honda dealer could offer no guidance.

Any ideas? Th

I have a 2013 Honda CRV EX-L. I have never been able to use the full text message features with my iPhone but the notifications when a text message came in had worked with my 4s. When I got my iPhone 6 the notifications stopped working. I tried "reset all settings" twice which didn't help. However, if you go to the bluetooth settings and click the blue "info" icon on the handsfree link you can turn notifications on. At least now I am back to getting the text message notifications and the car will read the message. Still not able to use the reply or read feature but that never worked anyway.

I don't know if anyone has researched this issue further - iPhone 6 & Honda CR-V - but it has caused me innumerable headaches along with many useless chats with Apple and Honda. Basically, the Honda CR-V 'HandsFreeLink' does not work with the iPhone 6. Doing the 'reset' of your phone doesn't change a thing except lose a bunch of your stuff (apps/music), which you then have to go back and get from your computer and the iCloud. Apple suggested going to Honda and getting a 'Firm ware update'. But when I called the Honda service at my dealer, he directed me to Honda's website "Handsfreelink.com". If you go through their questions to check if a phone is compatible with your car model, you discover that they have nothing listed for the iPhone 6. My iPhone 5S worked perfectly, and that's why it was kind of a shock to discover the iPhone 6 is a no go. I can make calls and receive calls, but sometimes the phone cuts out, or I end up talking to Siri, who keeps asking what she can do for me. Grrrrrrr!!! Frustration! IF anyone at Honda or Apple gets around to resolving this problem anytime soon, I will write back to this community. Basically . . . . the Apple Corp. is moving along and Honda can't keep abreast of all the changes. Maybe I can just go back to using my CB radio. (LOL)

I own a 2013 CRV and had an iPhone 4s when I got it. The dealership paired the phone and car for me and that was that - no problems.

Recently, my wife and I purcheased iPhone 6's and I have not been able to get the 6 to "talk" on Bluetooth with my 2013 CRV... until today.

The solution is clearly described in a PDF located at:

Scroll down to the part about adding a phone when another phone had previously been paired to the system. That's the key, understanding that adding a phone when a different phone had previously been paired to the car's system requires a new process. I was going crazy trying to use the "Phone" button on the dash and then trying to add a new phone by choosing "Yes" when it prompted "Connect to a phone..." That won't work.

You flick the little button you normally flick to initiate a hands-free call, and that starts the process. You pick "Phone Setup" then "Add a new phone" and then you enter in the code 0000 and then you're done. Simple as that.

Thanks for your answer. It helped. I've been trying to connect text support between my iPhone 6 with my Honda, and have had no luck. I was an Android user before and was able to get messages. Honestly, the iPhone 6 has only given me grief. I've been to the MAC Store and on the phone with support numerous times. The techs are always surprised when they see my history. I had to go to the "Genius Bar" again yesterday and the store finally gave me a new phone, but another problem showed up before I even walked out the door. I did ask the tech about the compatibility between the Honda and the phone. He had no idea text messages could be supported through the car's system. I wonder if this feature was disabled for safety reasons?
