wifi slow ios8 verizon advantec router

Hi Everyone,

Ok, so now I know it is not the hardware (I went into my office and my wifi flew but I have an apple airport router there)... but at home with my verizon advantec router, I can't get any wifi speed (1Mb/s) and it is spotty...

Any ideas on what to change on my router to get this to work right?
