Oct 2, 2014 3:14 PM in response to jab336by KatalystW,This worked for my Win7 Ultimate 64bit! I used the iCloud 4 installer instead of the iCloud 3.1 one though.
Thanks!

Nov 30, 2014 6:49 PM in response to RayButlerby Eudreamality,I have exactly the same issue. Windows 8.1 never installed any apple product on this brand new machine yet. Tried multiple times to install icloud, it won't work. It's a shame that apple would launch a faulty program without addressing the defect for so long.

Dec 5, 2014 4:26 PM in response to h mfromwinchesterby reverse,II've had problems installing on three 64 bit Win 7 machines, Two on Bootcamp ( a Mac Mini and an iMac) and one a PC. After trying all suggesting here several times, I managed to get iCloud running properly on the MC Mini Bootcamp Win 7.
On the iMac Bootcamp Win 7 I uninstalled ALL Apple software, bar Bootcamp. I then manually deleted every file, folder and registry item I could find. after reinstalling, everything worked, except I still had the same inability to sync Contacts from iCloud with Outlook (2007). The same "iCloud was not corrected installed, blah, blah' came up.
As regards the PC - I've not even bothered trying.
What is it about Apple recently? I've had problems with all their iCloud updates the last three revisions. Have they begun outsourcing quality control to Microsoft?
So ... does anyone have any other possible solutions, or should I just give up?

Dec 29, 2014 1:00 PM in response to droylsby Peterh1949,This works well. Thank you. One thing I would add - if you have problems deleting most of the files in the common flies/Apple/internet services folder (because some of the .dll files are in use) just restart the computer and immediately go back in and try the deletes again. This should clean up almost all the files in the folder

Jan 2, 2015 7:19 AM in response to h mfromwinchesterby Quellei,I fought with this for about six hours, but I found a solution for my problem. I noticed the actual issue when I used dependency walker on c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\internet services\iCloud_main.dll and found that it was referencing x64 versions of msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll. Tried installing the x86 version of the VS 2013 redist package (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784), however, that didn't fix the install error. Copied the DLLs from c:\windows\syswow64 to the path of iCloud_main.dll and found that those were actually 64-bit dlls in the x86 windows folder. Uninstalled x86 vc2013 C++ redist then deleted those files out of syswow64. Reinstalled VC 2013 C++ followed by a successful install of iCloud. When I opened the icloud64.msi installer in Orca I noticed that it does install the VS 2013 files into the system directory so it could be that the issue is in their installer getting the paths for x86 backwards and installing the x64 dlls in the x86 folder, or there was something wrong with this computers factory image.
TL;DR
Uninstall iCloud
Uninstall Visual Studio 2013 C++ Redist x86
Delete msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll from C:\windows\syswow64
Install Visual Studio 2013 C++ Redist x86 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784)
Install iCloud

Jan 4, 2015 1:17 AM in response to jab336by julesthebit,To add a little to this, the order in which Apple components are removed might be relevant. Take a look at this article:
Seems to me that the version of iCloud distributed in the downloaded msi is faulty, though it's dated 1st Dec 2014 and seems to have been updated since the start of this thread. Anyway, it's forcing an install of iCloud via the Apple installer which gives a version that works.
Nice one jab336, I could have wasted a lot of time on this.
Happy New Year!

Jan 9, 2015 10:24 AM in response to LWolfieby suerealtor,That would be great if you could stop it. I had my settings fixed so it wouldnt update but went to lunch one day and came back and it was ready to shut down after the update to install. Problem is I'd get a notice every so often saying do you want to update? I'd say no but there is a glitch that if you dont say no it does it anyway.
So with that being said I see a lot of people having problems with Windows 7 or windows 8 and the icloud for windows installer..................lovely!!

Feb 8, 2015 5:57 AM in response to h mfromwinchesterby anthonyiu,Try this
To update icloud with windows 7
-download iCloud installer 3.1.0.40
-go to install, it will ask if you want to remove residual iCloud
-uninstall it
-restart
-then remove folder "internet services" and its contents
\hard drive\program files\common files\apple\internet services
-then install version 3.1.0.40
-restart, logoff the iCloud in control panels
-install version 4.02

May 13, 2015 6:09 AM in response to h mfromwinchesterby justharry1,Was experiencing identical problem and tried multiple different suggested solutions, including those listed by members in this community. I was extremely hopeful that Apple was paying attention and patiently waiting for the latest release. That release (Version 4.1) is now out and, guess what ... the same installation problem remains unaddressed.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem, now with the new version? If I am, someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. If I'm not, Apple please address the issue.
Thank you!
