Aug 18, 2015 6:03 PM in response to h mfromwinchesterby justharry1,Just an update. I have since installed Microsoft Windows Version 10 (resisted versions 8 and 8.1, for good reasons it turned out) and bravo to Microsoft for their free Windows 10 release and its totally smooth, not even close to a glitch install on my five year old HP running Windows 7 64 bit .. and EVERYTHING works - hardware, all installed software .. everything!
Of course, since the Windows 10 upgrade, I tried once again to install latest release of iCloud for Windows (version 4.1) when the screen prompt for it appeared and got the identical installation package failure error message.
Apple, I'm begging you .. please read through all the posts on this and similar support forums and release an iCloud for Windows update that will actually install smoothly and work, without the necessity for white hat deciphering of code.
Thank you,
Harry

Dec 4, 2015 11:54 AM in response to h mfromwinchesterby merlintx,iCloud on Windows was running just fine with my current environment, but somewhere along the line I started getting this same error that "iCloud need to be repaired". Because of this error, I cannot sync eMail, contact, calendar, etc. Everything else functions except the previous mentioned apps. I have uninstall, reinstalled, repaired countless times But still get the same results. I even uninstall all Apple software, iTunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, support, etc. Reinstalled everything with success until iCloud for Windows, which was the last app installed and I got the same error.
Has anyone found a sure fix for this error? I'm not about to uninstall, reinstall or repair. As mentioned, I've done it countless times.
I'm running Windows 10, Version 1511, Build 10586.14, Office 365 version 2016, 64bit Intel I7 process, 32 GB RAM 12 TB of hard drives.

Jan 24, 2016 4:14 PM in response to h mfromwinchesterby stutum62,I resolved the issue by uninstalling all Apple software and then installing iCloud 5.1 (I could install 4). Interestingly, when attempting to uninstall the Apple Software Updater, failed to uninstall with exactly the same message that the iCloud installer failed with "icloud for windows has an invalid signature". I then repaired the Apple Software Updater and then the uninstall worked. I used the Revo Uninstaller Pro (30 day free) and cleaned up after each item I uninstalled. Credit to https://miapple.me/fix-icloud-for-windows-10-repair-and-installation-failures/ for pointing me to this solution. (This was on Win7)

Jun 20, 2016 9:02 PM in response to h mfromwinchesterby techmei,Hi there,
To address your issue re Windows Installer, please try fixing it using the admin rights. For more info, plz read this official troubleshooting page@ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2438651
Re-try the express uninstall wizard as the admin user. Choose the Repair option if you still have trouble performing the uninstall of iCloud for Windows.
Personally, to successfully uninstall iCloud for Windows, please do the following:
- Gain the admin access.
- Save all of your personal stuff like your photos, files.
- Exit the unwanted iCloud client, then terminate all of Apple/ iCloud related processes by making the best of Task Manager.

- Re-try launching the traditional uninstall routine (Start > Cpanel > Add/Remove, or "Uninstall a program"); rid of other possibly unused items like Apple Software Update, if you do not use 'em. For complete troubleshooting instructions, you can read this story.
