iPhone 6 Bluetooth + 2014 Mazda 3 Problems

Ccontact Mazda, ask if they plan a firmware update for compatibility with the iphone 6.

I'm also having a similar problem with a 2012 Mazda 6. It pairs for music but it disconnects whenever I get a call. It says "searching." Very annoying. It worked fine with my iPhone 5S. Bought iPhone 6 Plus and have been having the issue ever since.

Looks like mobile phones will soon be disabled, or partially disabled when they're in motion anyway.

And they're not just talking about Texting.

Iphone 6 Plus doesnt even recognise the Mazda 3 2013 model.

I submitted a question about this issue to Mazda's hands free support site - http://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com/vehicle_select?language=en-US

Their response was that they are still testing the Iphone6 with the system and will not know the issue until the test is completed. So in general, they have no idea what the problem and fix is.

I found the fix and got everything to work again... so far.

You will have to unpair your phone from the car's bluetooth and vice versa, unpair the car from the phone. The last step is to go to General >Reset>Reset All Settings on the iphone. Although its a pain to go back into your phone to manage your settings again... its worth it!

The new 8.0.2 update DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AT ALL. After you power off and on with the phone, same issue as the 8.0, all 3 of my cars lost Bluetooth connection and shows no signal at all. Good job Apple, what a lousy update you guys did.

I have no solution for you Jarrod. I drive a 2014 Mazda 3 and reset all settings on my phone > went into the bluetooth setting on the iphone and disconnect the mazda pairing off it > and went into the mazda dashboard and disconnect the iphone pairing off the mazda .............. and everything worked.

If anything, try reset your network setting on the iphone as well.

I was having the same issue with a 2014 Mazda 3. It pairs but calls sound was not transferred nor control. Using Apple Maps to get directions, I turned on "allow HFS" prompts. I also noticed the greyed out volume slider (in podcasts) was at 0. I turned it up and, voila, sound. It slides even though it's grey.

I have the same problem with my 2010 Mazda 3. I have a iPhone 4s and upgraded the os to iO8 and started to experience the problem. Now I have a iPhone 6 and the problem still exists. I would have thought this is a pretty simple thing to sort out for Apple if it seems to be across several different car manufacturers and I fail to understand why it is Mazda's responsibility to update their firmware to suit the new Apple operating system.

Get it sorted Apple and improve your product testing process before releasing new products and firmware upgrades. It is not our responsibility as customers to test your products for you.

I am having the same issue with my 2012 Mazda 3. I have been hoping Apple would provide a real fix which hasn't happened so I called Mazda. They said that they are receiving a lot of complaints about the issue but that they are waiting for Apple to fix the issue as it is not a problem with their firmware.
