iOS 8 iBooks Highlighting Everything

I am having the same issue.

To say it is frustrating having to reread hundreds of pages due a schoolboy error is putting it mildly.

I am seriously considering abandoning iBooks.

Me too. Same Here. My bad for being the early bird in upgrading, the early bird always gets the bugs. For me, when I tried to hightlight, it will highlight backward, from the point where I want to start, to highlight all the way back to the beginning of the chapter. This doesn't happen every time, but it has happened a few times in 2 days. I rely heavily on highlighting (to review the book), and this new bug render iBook completely useless for me.

I'm having the same problem!!!! I have always used this feature and never had this problem!! I always highlight certain magazines I download and heavely rely on this feature. I will highlight a few paragraphs and then all of a sudden it highights all the prior paragraghs. When you delete, it erases everything you have already highlighted!! I have tried rebooting but problem still exsits.

This only started with the IOS 8 upgrade. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have waited to upgrade. I use the highlighting ALOT!!

The text highlights to the beginning if you lift your finger up in the margin instead of over text.

I find that this bug only occurs if you scrolling view turned off (default) if you switch to scrolling view the bug does not appear to happen for me.

Same issue here. Love watching 100 pages of careful note taking obliterated in one fell swoop.

I am also experiencing this highligating bug on my iPad Air on iOS 8. This is a serious regression and it is very unfortunate that this made it to the final release. I will be much more reluctant to upgrade to the new release of iOS in the future if major bugs like this continue to be a problem.

Thanks, I've done this and it seems to avoid the problem though I don't like this option normally...hopefully it's fixed soon...

This is crazy frustrating...wanted to toss my iPad...my wife had same problem was not very happy either! Hopefully we will hear all is clear with this issue in the next update to iBooks or iOS...NOT happy!

Just wanted to add I have the same issue. When your touch goes over to the next page or off the side of the page, the whole book is highlighted. Thereby losing every previous highlight & note you made. Its a bit maddening.

Same problem here too. Really annoying and made me waste a lot of time. Practically taking notes in iBooks isn't a feature anymore but a way to get frustrated.

Speaking in general I am also experiencing a lot of issues with touch interface since iOS 7, especially when it comes to text highlighting/selection.

i have the same problem too. Apple is really getting sloppy. And fixes to the rushed software seem to be taking longer as well

Considering that iBooks was a big reason for my move from Android to iOS this is a huge blow. This needs to be fixed if Apple is to be taken seriously for academic use.

Ibooks started to have highlighting problems. It highlights everything unless I try to highlight very very slow, and somehow some of the highlighted paragraphs are missing from notes which I am positive that I highlighted. Deeply frustrated and now ipad is a useless device for me.
