how can i see file size in all my files .... the way you see them in the downloads (a nice column giving file size of each file) ????

In the Finder window press COMMAND-J to open the View Options panel. Set your view to List View. Check the box labeled Size. A Size column is now visible in your Finder window. Click on the Make Default button.

If I understand your question, I believe this is what you are seeking:
Note the selection on the menu bar.
Also use COMMAND+J and select 'Calculate all sizes'.
