It's been a whole week now for me and my badge app icon toggle is still there. So this definitely worked for me and continues to hold up. Good luck to everyone else searching for a solution!

Still not working for me. After the last Twitter app update my toggle came back briefly as well. My notifications however were still not working and after trying to turn them off and back on the toggle also dissapeared again. It's unreal that this has been going on for 3 months. I just sent Twitter another tweet to get this fixed, it's just not acceptable.

I tried everything and I don't get the badge toggle nor do I receive notfications. All my other apps work fine but Twitter is just acting up the whole time, 3 **** months and counting. Anyone think this might relate to ios8 Twitter integration rather than the app itself?

How much activity do you get on Twitter?

Not a whole lot. I follow about 5 people with these personal notifications when they tweet. Like I said, the fix the I used has worked and has been working for about 3 weeks now. Good luck in your quest, I know how frustrating this is.

If we want to help solving this issue, we have to find out one important thing: is this happening on all devices or just on a part of them with special conditions? Does anybody know somebody, who did not deal with this bug?

It seems random. I had my friend over yesterday with his new iPhone 6 and first thing I did was checking his Twitter app. His notifications work fine and he also has the badge toggle in settings. This is so annoying and I wonder if it has something to do with Apple ID now since its not happening on every device. For me it is not working on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6, both which where set up as new. This is such a strange bug and Twitter has been so quite about it. Arghh

    Hey

For you and everyone else I have fixed both issues with twitter finally. Now im not sure if some steps are unnecessary but it worked for me and it sticks 100%

    Missing Badge Issue:

    1) delete twitter and sign out in settings

    2) restart iOS device

    3) change time manually to a few days ahead

    4) restar iOS device again (might be unnecessary)

    5) reinstall twitter and sign into twitter from within the app NOT from settings

    6) twitter will give the notification pop up again (due to step 3)

    7) after all other pop ups close app since it won't work with wrong time

    8) uninstall twitter again

    9) change time back to automatic

    10) restart iOS device (might be unnecessary)

    11) install twitter again and sign in from settings as usual

    12) badge option sticks

    Notifications not working:

    1) I realised that in the iOS twitter app (Me-settings-mobile notifications) tweet notifications had the main button turned off. Everytime I tried to turn it back on it produced an error message and didn't work.

    2) Sign out of twitter in settings and uninstall the app (might be unnecessary)

    3) go to twitter on a PC browser and go to settings-Apps and revoke access to all of your iOS devices. This will fix the error message in step 1

    3) install twitter again on your iOS devices and sign in via settings

    4) go to Me-settings-mobileNotifications-tweets and turn on the main button. This time no error message

    5) Twitter works again as usual

I tried to mention where some steps might be unnecessary but this is what worked for me. Hope this helps some people as I tried everything that was mentioned here before to no avail. What a hassle this was to fix.

I would love to say, that this solved it, but unfortunately this is not the case Currently my phone works since half a day without icon badges, but the switch is already gone again from Prefs.

    Hey,

I know I was trying to edit my post but it doesnt let me for some reason. It was sticking for me even after restarts however as soon as I used the Twitter app it disappeared again. At least the app is actually not showing badges, maybe because I turned it off before it dissapeared.

My fix for the notifications worked perfect tho because I had no notifcations showing and couldn't figure out for ages why.

After I entered Preferences, Twitter shows badges on the icon again.

Just a quick update: iOS 8.1.3 and Twitter 6.21.1 still has the issue.

Hm, it seems working for me on three devices since 4 days now. Twitter 6.22.1 / iOS 8.1.3/8.2/8.3b2. You have to do the trick described in this topic earlier. Did it solve for you too?

this is FINALLY fixed in the Twitter app version (6.22) that I've got!

Go here: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20170803-managing-push-notifications-on-twi tter-for-iphone and you should be able to toggle "Badge app icon".

    Finally!!
