All checked prior to posting. MAC Filtering is always disabled. Routers rebooted. Done reset on Phone network setting about 5 times now..

Well now I am having these issues again but it's sparatic- it will connect but sometimes loses connection and says wrong password or unable to connect! Why do we pay so much money for these things if they aren't going to work properly

Why do you pay so much for a router if it isn't going to work properly?

The phone works with other routers and networks. That should tell you something.

Regardless of whatever some individuals say about the Routers being an issue, it's incorrect info. If this is the case, I would have been able to connect to the other half a dozen routers that I have tried and the hot spots using other mobile phones. Sadly this is not the case.

More importantly, the phone connected to the same routers without any issues when on iOS versions 8.2 to 9.1.

The only network I could connect when on 8.1 and now on 9.2 are the networks without the need of Passwords which got me thinking if there is something to do with the WAP2 protocol (or like) that the phone software has issues with.

    Hey guys,

Same problem here.  Bitterly disappointing to spend upward of £500 on my Daughters Xmas present to find these networking issues.  I seem to have found a temporary workaround for now:-

    Configure a static IP Address

Settings > Wifi > [Your SSID] > Static

Put in your relevant network details there.

Choose an IP that is unlikely to conflict with other devices connecting with DCHP

To get your Subnet Mask and DNS settings you can run > CMD > ipconfig/all on a windows PC

    OR ifconfig on mac

No more disconnects for now here

Well,  looks like I spoke a little too soon

I have been experiencing connection loss again.  It seems that when the signal drops below a certain point the iphone6s 'decides' to switch back to 3G or whatever alternative.  Not ideal as as my Daughter has no credit available for mobile data, therefore this results in loss of data connection altogether.

I have since disabled mobile data in the hope that it would force connection to remain to WiFi, sadly the phone simply drops connection altogether on a weak signal.  I also intermittently receive the incorrect password message, if I ignore it it connects anyway!

It might also be worth mentioning that I have about a dozen other devices ( including MacBook, iPads, android devices etc ) that all receive a strong WiFi signal in the same location.  Which leads me to believe the WiFi receiving hardware in the iPhone 6s may be faulty?

I really expected more to be honest, when you pay this amount of cash for an Apple device you would hope the components were top spec and rigorously tested beforehand.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  The phone is 3 days old.  I'm considering requesting a replacement / refund.

Go to Settings/Cellular, scroll to the bottom and turn off WiFi assist.

If you think there's a problem with the phone take it to an Apple store and they will check it out, and replace it if its defective. The iPhone has a 1 year warranty, that you can extend to 2 years by adding AppleCare + to it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply.  I'll try that out and see how it goes.  Regarding the warranty that's good to know, thanks.

It would be great if you can try to investigate with the apple shop what is the real issue.. It will help many like us who are struggling and don't want to pay out massive amounts for cellular data.. Let alone the frustration..

    Thanks

    TURN LOCATION SERVICE ON !!!!

OMG : after two months of trying to connect my iphone 6 to my home wifi, it finally worked today .  my iphone6 worked with every wifi on the face of the earth except the home one (every other phone , laptop etc  all worked fine on home wifi and all other wifis).  After trying everything short of stomping on it and hammering it to pieces, on a fluke, i switched on the location service, which i dont like keeping on - and voila the phone accepted my password and connected to the wifi.  Ever I phone I have owned has given me trouble - last two : on off switching failed, battery drained out in a couple of hours . Apple needs to take responsibility and treat its customers with respect especially now that sales are down. Dont know how long this connection will last or what the next problem will be.

While it's terrific that your issue seems resolved, you seem to have found a w way to blame Apple for this.

Your phone does not accept your wifi password, your router does. YOUR router. The phone merely sends your password to YOUR router where it is accepted or rejected.

If every router in the world allowed you to connect, and your home one did not... would that not lead you to believe your home router may have been/still is the issue? Did you ever troubleshoot the router? Recycle it? A new router may be $50-$100 vs. struggling with a device worth 10-15x that amount.

Not sure how or why toggling location services on allowed you to connect to your router, but it's good that it did.

People do tend to blame the phone when it might just be the router, I also know from experience that sometimes it is the operator that is at fault. As the police will tell you the cause of a car accident is often the nut behind the wheel!

NOW I Have one of the greatest solutions to this problem... All you have to do is go on IPhone 6 go to settings then wifi then find your network click the button then click Forget Network then go to your Modem (Modem Must have a WPS Button or Power Circle Button) Press and Hold until Light is spinning around then Open your IPhone go back to wifi settings find your network and put password in at the same time the light is spinning on modem then it will connect with no problems IF IT DONT WORK FOR YOU THEN YOUR DOING IT WRONG...THANK You for Reading have a Bless day

              Worked for me

the best way to get a direct answer is to post a new question, rather than tag on to a thread with over 150 posts.
