    I had the same issue with 2 cars, Volvo and Lexus.

    One solution that has worked for me:

    Settings ->General ->Reset -> Reset All Settings

    YOU WILL NOT LOSE any data, but you will have to reconnect Bluetooth and enter your WiFi passwords.

    I had a similar problem. However, I resolved it easily by just doing the following:

    1. Using the Car's menu, forget the Bluetooth connection
    2. On the phone, delete the Bluetooth pairing
    3. Repair the car to the iPhone
    4. Initiate a call

    This worked and only took about 5 minutes. Now, I am able to answer and initiate calls again through my steering wheel buttons.

    Here is what worked for me.  If you have multiple ios 8 devices do this with all of them.  Go to your settings console on each device, and go to icloud.  Once there, logout (sign off, scroll to the bottom) of Icloud, you can keep all of your settings on your device.  Once this is done, reboot your iphone.  I also removed my phone from bluetooth in both settings on car and on phone.  I then reconnected with success.  Once I'd finished, I reconnected icloud on all devices, and retested, SUCCESS.  this is what we all want!  I'm sure that the problem lies withing ios 8 integrating more functionality between ipad and other devices.
