Dec 3, 2014 10:14 AM in response to Jaydin.c333by Yorye,I don't get this at all. This has been going on for years.
- I bought an iPad mini with GPS & cell data because I wanted GPS, not cell data, but hey, that's Apple. I dealt with it.
- I never had a SIM card and don't want a SIM card.
- It worked just fine until one IOS upgrade, I cannot remember which one, at which time I started getting the "NO SIM Installed" message.
- I have tried all of the varied and imaginative suggestions on how to get rid of that message with no success.
Apple seems to have ignored this issue for years. Can they please, in some near future update, provide a way to turn off the message.
- I know I don't have a SIM card, believe me!
- I am deeply disappointed in Apple's total disregard for what has been a long term issue.

Dec 3, 2014 11:22 AM in response to Jaydin.c333by Yorye,I've done that and all of the other suggestions. Where is a response from Apple on this. Nada, zero, zip.... This is not a user issue, It's a bug.
See my response to your first email on Dec 3.

Then tell Apple, no-one here can do anything about it for you.

exactly this. And fyi it started with iOS 8.0, it was never a problem with any iOS version 7.x or earlier
this morning I updated to iOS 8.1.2, and I've already seen a couple No SIM Installed messages. So still not fixed in 8.1.2 !

Dec 10, 2014 11:58 PM in response to Jaydin.c333by RedRioja,Updated to 8.1.2 today.
Got the No Sim message FOUR TIMES already since that.
So I am inclined to say that Apple - true to their colors - still does not give a &§% about it and still is interested in only one thing: making MONEY!
I am sick of them sad clowns

Dec 16, 2014 5:48 AM in response to sunnyinlondonby RedRioja,OK, so hopefully this will be my last post in this matter ...
Yesterday I had a chance to visit one of those phone shops in next bigger city. I told them about my problem and the fine folks provided me with a shiny new Nano SIM card, free of charge! They said it's one of their spares and it would actually work if I activated it with the provider.
I put it in and ... the first thing that came up after a reset was: NO SIM CARD
What ???
Cellular was still "off" and it also said "No SIM".
I asked Siri to turn Cellular on. She said she did, but now it's still off, just greyed out and still saying No SIM.
BUT: I have gotten the dreadful Popup only twice more yesterday and not yet today. Wich is way wayyyy less than it used to be.
So even if this might not be the perfect solution after all, it's good enough for now.
I did all I could do, really.
Now it's really up to youknowwho to wise up and do something about it.
