Quick-type not working on my iPhone 5.

The easiest way to fix this is add another keyboard and then enable the predictive function on both of those. I'll outline the steps:

1. settings -> general -> keyboards -> keyboards -> add new keyboard -> {emoji}
2. then open your keyboard and click and hold the globe symbol that appears in the bottom left of your screen.
3. that will toggle a menu to pop up.
4. continue sliding your finger up until the top part of the screen and cross the bubble that says predictive.

If this doesn't work, then open the default keyboard and swipe up from the top half.

i tried your solution and when i push finger up i only see emojji and english, it does nothing, i have iPhone 4s and it did work the day i updated

Act like you're going to send a message via iMessage/Text. Get your keyboard up. Look to see if there's a little line above the letter Y. If so, put your finger on it and swipe up to expand the keyboard to show QuickType.

I think the line is above both T & Y on iPhone and just above only the Y on iPad.

i got it to work on my iPhone but my iPad there is no line above the y and it won't work...

M quick type disappeared And now I cant even use it. I know that u can hide it if want to or pull up again if want To. Now it doesn't do that. i need help guys

Here's another, even quicker, fix that worked for me. Turn off QuickType, shut down the device, boot up the device again, turn on QuickType:

1) Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Predictive: set to Off position

2) Shut down device

3) Turn on device

4) Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Predictive: set to On position
