What is "BackService.app"?
Is it an Apple or external programme?
Is it part of "Back to Mac" or a firewall programme?
What are strengths & weaknesses of selecting Deny or Allow for this?

Apparently that file is in /Library/Application Support/EltimaSyncMate/BackService.app. (That's Library at the root level of your startup disk; not the one in System or in your User folder.)

I just turned my Firewall "ON" and the Backservice.app messaged popped up.
I don't understand the answer provided to your original question.
I don't want to delete or investigate this any further, just want to know if I say DENY to the Backservice.app message, will my Mac run poorly etc.?
Cannot remember installing that app and there is no "Disk Drill" within applications. I had my iMac in for repair a while ago,perhaps they used that software for recovery and when I used 'utilities-migration assistant' from 'iMac to MacBook' perhaps it brought over 'BackService.app'?
Yes I remember installing SyncMate a few years ago but the application is not on my system anymore in the Applications folder. Presumably if SyncMate could have left BackService.app following removing from Applicationsđ
I have used http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/syncmate-mac-os/uninstall.html to uninstall any associated files and all appears to be working well now. Thanks for the SyncMate pointerđ
If not Disk Drill, SyncMate then?
Looks like at one time you installed the application Disk Drill. So it's not an Apple program. Uninstall Disk Drive if you don't want it anymore.
