iPhone 6 wifi

iphone 6, had trouble restoring from iCloud over wifi first night, had to update old iPhone 5 to iOS 8, backup to iTunes and then restore to new iPhone 6. Issue with first restore was kept dropping wifi signal or would say incorrect password. Finally restored from iTunes backup.

however, intermittent issues with wifi continuing. Dropping the signal, not recognizing the network exists, not accepting password.

My iphone 5 running iOS 8 works fine with no issues, been working since Thursday. ipad 3 running iOS 8 works fine with no issues, been fine since Wednesday.

is this a hardware or software issue? It's causing my data to skyrocket, I'm going to go over my data plan and be penalized. I've seen other forums having same issues, but no one from Apple owning the issue. You are about to lose a loyal supporter.

I am having the same problem with my iPhone 6 128gb. I finally got my phone to restore from iCloud after several hours. Now that it is up and running the wifi is extremely slow. I ran a speed test (same site, same wifi network) on my iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, and my MacBook Pro while connected to the same network in my office and here are the results.

iPhone 6: 0.56 Mbps download / 0.51 Mbps upload

iPhone 5s (iOS 8): 2.48 Mbps download / 2.41 Mbps upload (this is much slower than before upgrading to iOS 8)

MacBook Pro: 15.92 Mbps download / 8.71 Mbps upload

It seems like it's software to me since the upgrade effected the wifi speed of my iPhone 5s immediately after upgrading the software but then again my iPhone 6 is way slower than my iPhone 5s with the same iOS. So I don't know what it is but I do know it needs to be fixed.

This is not a small bug.

Update:

Wife took it to Apple Monday night. tech wiped it, restored as a new phone. Ensured that the wifi was working, then wiped it again and restored from an iCloud backup. it has been working fine since.

got my 6 plus on Tuesday. was able to restore to an iCloud backup from my 5 with no issues. has been working fine since.

all is well now.
