Q: trying to update an app that is already updated

I am being asked to update Safari to version 7.1, and I also see it in the recently updated column.  Safari is telling me that it is using the older version.

 

How can I correct this?

After shutting down the MacBookAir completely.  And then restarting, Safari was updated to 7.1

 

Not sure what was happening, but appears problem is solved.
