It shouldn't but you should backup your important data ahead of time just in case.

Sep 21, 2014 8:28 AM in response to arturo65by Ralph Landry1,No, a simple Install OS X does not delete data. As long as you do not do an erase your content should be ok. Of course, we all recommend backing up information before doing an operating system install, but I have never lost data during many installs.

Sep 21, 2014 8:34 AM in response to Nielby arturo65,I don't have the option for back up because my mac shutted down and i couldn't turn it on again until I pressed command, R. It appears a window with the following options:
restore a security copy from time machine
reinstall OS X
help from internet
Utility of disk
