I should mention that I have tried all of the fixes described above, resetting every device, reentering the password in my router, rebooting each device. I even tried eliminating password protection from the router and the phone won't connect. My iPhone 5 and my iPad air connect just fine, as do all of the other devices in my house. It appears to be a problem that is specific to the iPhone 6 hardware.

I have same problem with iPhone 5c. iOS 8.0

After transferring data via iTunes from old iPhone2 new one forgot BLOCKED password of WiFi AP and password of mailbox.

Old iPhone2 still work with WiFi AP perfectly.

With mailbox was not serious problem: I deleted mail account on iPhone and made it again successfully. But WiFi password still not received

Russian Apple help desk take me call # 669175382.

    Need help!

Well, the problem is in the automatic selection of security protocol. Hope they will fix it soon. This is worse than a Windows Release!!

    Workaround:

    1. Select "Other" in the Network.

    2. Put the SSID same as your router's.

    3. Select the appropriate security protocol from the menu.

    4. Enter the password.

    5. Join

Viola ! It gets connected again..

This could be true for some users but some of us have tried every single process to get it to work and it still says incorrect password. After talking with Apple Support, it appears to be a problem with the wifi chip. You will have to return your iphone to apple and they will replace it for free if you are under warranty. I had to ship mine in and I got it back in a day and a half.

New iPhone 6 delivered two days ago. Same problem described here. We've reset the network settings and recycled the DSL modem and Airport Extreme. Still getting an "Incorrect Password" message, even though our MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Mini and iPod Touch all connect just fine with the same password. The phone connects perfectly with the secure WiFi network at my office, though. We'll try the IndyJones1 workaround this weekend.

For me the same problem !!!

Password incorrect, although it is the correct password.

Sometimes wifi works ok on my iphone 6, mostly not!

And my internet bundle is dropping !!

    I hate this !!

Same sh*t here, I have my iphone 6 for a week now, everything was working fine, yesterday it started disconnecting from my Wi-Fi. Each time I tried to connect, it said your password is wrong, yeaaah, stupid piece of sh*t, it's totally normal that my pc and other devices are connected to Wi-fi but a €700 device can't connect. I can't believe this, just tried to reset my iphone, still nog working, I really hope there is a simple solution to this, my brother doesn't have that issue with his iphone 6.

I'm receiving the identical results however I'm using an iPad air, when it says wrong password. Then when I go to sign-on on my iPhone 5, my iPhone 4S, or my Mac Mini they work perfectly. Out of pure and utter frustration I reset my router losing all my settings...which I'm not afraid to say will represent hours of my time to reset.....no avail there is no possible way for my iPad Air running iOS 8.0.2 to sign on to my network. This is amateur hour at Apple.

I'm not an expert at all but I stumbled upon this & it seemed to work.  Go to "Applications" then "Utilities"...open "Airport Utility".  Click on your "Time Capsule" then "Edit"...under the "Base Station" & "Wireless" tabs change your password.  Click "Update" & wait for "Time Capsule" to reset.  Retry the iPhone 6 with new password.  Voila!

Thank you for the suggestion I do appreciate it, unfortunately for me it's an iPad error not an iPhone six so I don't have that applications tab that you're referring to.  Now I could probably install this AirPort Utility even though I don't have airport to try this but unfortunately, there in lies the other problem is I cannot install a new application on my iPad air because it says that my password is wrong on the air. However my password hasn't changed for a year and works perfectly on my Mac Mini on my iPhone five and on my iPhone 4s but not on my iPad air just like the Wi-Fi password won't work either. My workaround on this is I have now switched my Wi-Fi network to open and hidden the SS ID for now to make that work but an open network is not something I want to have.

I have an iPhone 5s who never told me about wrong wifi password until iOS 8! So it's definitely not hardware in my case.

What's strange is that when I press cancel (when it asks me to enter the correct password), it connects to my wifi after a few seconds. It happens in my home, my car, my parents'. So it's more boring that impossible to solve. But still, you would expect such a thing not to happen with a new firmware...

I hope 8.1 will solve that...

Having the same issue on an iphone 5 and 5S.  My ipad connects with no issue or my imac.  Won't take my password even though its correct.  Tried resetting network settings, restarting router, everything.  Pain in the @$$!

Ok, after 3 1/2 weeks of misery, and returning the original Iphone 6 for another, with it still not working, I found a rigged workaround.  You will have to manually add your iphone's wifi address (found in settings>general>about) to your accepted MAC address in your router's settings.  This is a pain in the neck as all of my other devices will work fine without doing this.  It's actually pretty easy, but should never be required which still infuriates me.  On my AT&T router, when I add the MAC address, it automatically places it on the blocked list, but all I had to do after was hit the left arrow and it switches it to the accepted list.  After all of the other suggestions that do not work, this one finally did and should be the culprit of most of you guy's problems as well.  Hope it works for you and I hope Apple gets their act together!
