I've been using my mac mail with Google imap for years. A few months ago, I noticed that when I do searches for certain old e-mails on my MBP, some of the old e-mails are missing. But when I use the Google gmail web interface, I can find them. How can I "force" my mac mail to download them? Actually, they had been downloaded in the past, but now they are missing. How can a force my mac to redownload them?
I have tried the following. In the Google gmail web interface, I have reset all the mail to "unread." And yes, my mac mail then detects them as unread. I waited overnight to give my mac mail a chance to download any missing e-mails. Well, that did not work.
Any thoughts?
