Q: My external Firewire hard disk not reachable after update HT6400
After updating today using the HT6400 update (About the OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 Update) my external Firewire hard disk is not reachable anymore. And if I look on all the new questions which have popped up in the last hours it seems to be a problem with this update.
My console log just shows this:
21/09/14 21:52:46,000 kernel[0]: IOBlockStorageDriver[IOBlockStorageDriver]; executeRequest: request failed to start!
21/09/14 21:52:46,000 kernel[0]: disk1s2: device/channel is not attached.
21/09/14 21:52:46,000 kernel[0]: disk1s2: media is not present.
21/09/14 21:52:46,399 diskarbitrationd[17]: unable to repair /dev/disk1s2 (status code 0x00000008).
21/09/14 21:52:46,407 diskarbitrationd[17]: unable to mount /dev/disk1s2 (status code 0x00000001).
Can you please release an update fix. Thanks you.

The only way for me to fix it, was to re-install the update using the "Combo Update" (OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Update (Combo))
