iOS 8 iMovie exporting problem

hi,

i have problem with exporting a movie in iMovie for iOS 8. I've created a project with sone videos from (my) iPhone 5 and also iPhone 5S (slo-mo) and few clips from Instagram's Hyperlapse. I've also added some music and tittle text. When I try to export my movie to camera roll, Vimeo or whatever I always get an error. Only if I try to export to iCloud Drive I addition to plain export error it also says "cocoa error 260."

If anyone here got same problem as I do and know the solution please share with me.

Thank you you in advise

Hello,

I had the same issue on IOS8 on an Ipad Air. I work for a school district in IT and this was a student project so I cant validate where the video clips came from but there was one video clip that was in slow motion (it may or may not have been from an Iphone). Once I removed the slow mo clip it was able to export as normal.

You might be able to change the slow mo clip formatting and get it to export properly but I didn't get a chance to test that.

Hope this helps.

Same problem for me too. Cannot export to anything-cameral roll, Facebook, Youtube, iTunes, etc. I get an exporting error. When I try to export to icloud I get the same "cocoa 260" error. This is my first time using the iMovie app on my phone and am really frustrated b/c I spent so much time putting together this project. I also removed a video that was using the time lapse b/c I read that slow-mo or time lapse may be causing issues...removed it and still having the same problem. UGH!

I have the same issue before. iMovie worked great on my ipad mini retina 2 days ago and then I decided to update iMovie. And that's where I began to run into these problems:

  1. Export fails
  2. in playback mode, only sound/music plays, no picture/video
  3. in edit mode...
    1. First clip of background music shows a flat line. If background music is switched to foreground music, you see the behavior
    2. playback in edit mode skips around and sometimes just starts at the end

I was hoping to just delete the application and start over from scratch.. but you say it doesn't help 😟

Hey guys,

Wow, this seems to be affecting a lot of people. I personally have not had any issues myself. Maybe you guys should try to remove one thing a t a time to see what is causing it? I found a way to duplicate a project so you dont have to destroy the original:

-Export the project to iTunes

-Re-import the same project from iTunes. You can do this by tapping the import button in the main projects screen.

You will now have a duplicate of the project you can experiment on. Try removing one thing at a time and exporting. I would start with any non-standard video or audio or whatever first and see what happens. Maybe that will point to the culprit?
