music won't play on iPhone 6

I got my new 6 and restored from my PC. The apps seem to load up and work correctly, but music is a problem.

The only music that seems to work reliably is Kenny Loggins songs.

When I pick a tune that is not by Kenny Loggins, I see all my other songs flash by quickly on the screen like the phone is scrolling through the list. Once it gets to a Kenny Loggins song, it starts playing.

I have re-synched a bunch of time. Some songs will load in and start working, but not reliably. Like I got a Clapton tune (Cocaine) to play once, but the next time, it was not even in the list.

When a song fails to play, there will be a solid red square with a red circle around it on the right next to the time (duration). Bunches of them.

What's up with that?

Hey Jim,

I'm not sure if you resolved this problem yet but I had the exact same problem (minus the Kenny Loggins part). It seemed like every song that I had that was not purchased through iTunes was being skipped and had the Stop (red square) sign next to it.

I literally just fixed it with this method:

-- plug in your iPhone and load up iTunes

-- once the iPhone is recognized in iTunes click on the iPhone tab to open up its options

-- click on the Music tab and uncheck the "Sync Music" option, then hit apply at the bottom. This will take a while to apply, at least it did with me.

-- Once that is applied, go ahead and re-check the box next to Sync Music and hit apply again.

-- After it finishes go ahead and eject your phone from iTunes and test out your music.

You should have all your music restored now. It worked for me the first time. Hope this helps.

I think I figured out what caused the music to disappear from my iPhone. The Sync Music check box in iTunes (on my PC) was un-checked. I "checked" it, did a synch and (an hour later), my music was restored to my phone. I don't know why the Sync Music box was un-checked. I exited iTunes, disconnected my synch cable and then re-connected. When iTunes re-opened, the synch box was still checked, so I am still without all the answers.
