Sep 24, 2014 8:17 AM in response to Ivan Hby Ianthin1,I'm having the same issue with my iPhone 5 running iOS 8. Does not recognize the Airport Express it is connected to with Airport Utility or Airplay. AMy iPhone 4 running iOS 7 still works normal. Hoping for a resolution soon. The link Alex supplied was no help.

Sep 26, 2014 9:19 PM in response to Ivan Hby Nilsm2,Hi Ivan. I thought I had a problem as well. I have Apple TV as well as an Airport Express. After ensuring all up to date (including IOS 8.0.2), then happened to notice that I can scroll down on the Airplay menu (I never had to before) and lo and behold, my Airport Express is listed. User error!

Sep 27, 2014 5:40 AM in response to Nilsm2by Ianthin1,Now that I have updated to 8.0.2, my issue is resolved. My airplay list has returned, as well as access to my Airport express. For the record, I had no issues with access or Airplay to either of my Apple TV's. Only Airplay to my Airport Express. I also could not see either my my Time Capsule or Airport Express in the Airport Utility. All that has been resolved with the update for me.

Sep 27, 2014 11:01 PM in response to Ianthin1by Ivan H,My AirPlay on iOS8.0.2 is still very unstable. I can't see AirPlay at all on my iPads and iPhones. Then I use Bluetooth on an iPad to connect to a Bluetooth speaker. It works and then AirPlay re-appears in the Control Centre showing that the Bluetooth speaker is connected. Weird!

Oct 3, 2014 5:34 PM in response to alex_h1by RockPort22,definitely a bug with iphone and ios 8 setting up apple networks. Major problem for us at work because we setup multiple apple networks for people weekly. iphone 5s running ios 7 worked fine. Ios 8 update to phone and here's what happens:
1.) airport express and/or apple extreme/time capsule (ive tried them all) shows up under wifi settings as its default apple name for initial setup.
2.) i select the apple device in wifi settings to configure (for the first time). Get a screen that says trying to get settings from your network. This attempt always goes onto an error message saying "an unexpected error occurred" and it cannot setup the apple device. Ive tried this in several homes with different brand new apple equipment, and extensive troubleshooting techniques. No luck.
3.) However, I then hop onto an ipad running ios 7. I use the same procedure in steps 1 and 2 and the device configures without issues. I then look at airport utility from ios 7 ipad and all apple equipment is in the green. However, if i pickup iphone with ios 8 (attached to the wifi network) at this point, and run airport utility, i can see all the apple devices (extreme, expresses, etc) but they all have exclamation points next to them. When i click on the exclamation point they say the device cannot be found etc.
This is obviously a bug due to our extensive troubleshooting. We've also spoken to Apple Care and apparently its not a known issue at this time but getting this message to the proper Apple IOS8 developers team seems impossible over the phone as I was transferred about 4 times to no avail.
This is a major inconvenience for us. Please make sure the proper Apple Team members are aware of this. Thanks

Oct 3, 2014 6:14 PM in response to RockPort22by Ianthin,8.0.2 fixed all my Airport issues with both my iPone 5 and 1st Gen iPad Mini. I've used both Airplay and bluetooth with both devices with no issues since that update. Both also show my Time Capsule and both Airport Express's through The Airport utility on either device, which I wasn't getting with 8.0 or 8.0.1. Ymmv.

Oct 3, 2014 6:20 PM in response to alex_h1by Ivan H,TThank you Alex.
I can't access to the link you provided from iPad. I'll try again later on Mac.
Here's a warning to other iPhone and iPad users: I notice that even though the WiFi icon appears, the data is actually downloading from the air, instead of WiFi!
But iOS 8.0.2 is still assuming the data comes from WiFi!

Dec 6, 2014 7:44 AM in response to Nilsm2by Lukian,Thank you.
On the previous iOS still running on my iPhone4, all AirPlay devices showed, while on the current version, only one shows, suggesting this is the only one. The user interface should be adjusted, I daresay, to give a hint to the listing available.
