Oct 11, 2014 7:42 AM in response to rerateby Priscilla Greene,Yes, same problem here, and I have updated to 8.0.2 (iPhone 6). Very flaky - happens in some but not all apps simultaneously, like Photos is locked but Mail is not. I have not found a workaround, using Control Center Portrait Lock on/off does not jog it out of its confused state.
Sort of relieved to see it isn't just happening to me. Hopefully Apple will fix the bug soon, it's particularly annoying when it happens in Photo and YouTube

Oct 11, 2014 2:15 PM in response to DTISby nmdesigns, actually the guy iguy is telling you the truth. It actually does not do landscape mode. Certain apps will rotate, they always have, on every iPhone, but the iphone 6 plus is the only phone that will actually do landscape home on the springboard and actually do landscape view in the apps ( the way an iPad does ) The regular 6 will not

Oct 12, 2014 2:51 PM in response to nmdesignsby DTIS,No, maybe you did not understand my post. The guy was not telling me the truth. I've had my iPhone 6 (Verizon/128GB/v8.02) for a couple of weeks now and haven't had the first problem rotating pics.

Oct 14, 2014 4:08 AM in response to mannyvelby erik A,Had my iPhone 6 64GB for less than a day and having the same non-rotation issues.
Why is this iOS 8 so buggy still?

Oct 16, 2014 9:28 AM in response to mannyvelby neocruz,While attempting to take a Landscape photo, the only way I've been able to 'make Landscape work' on my 128GB iPhone 6 is, after turning the phone sideways, cycle through Video, Photo, Square, Pano, then back to Photo again and Landscape finally takes effect. They need to fix this!! Steve, we miss your attention to detail. You would have NEVER allowed this to be released!

Oct 18, 2014 12:57 PM in response to brianmcguiby Richinmurrayhill,Same problem as others. Phone refuses to rotate. Also, pics are sometimes captured upside down. Went to Apple today and was simply told that bugs should be expected on new products. So frustrated. I am on my way to look at the Samsung S4. I am sick of Apple hiding behind flaws and lagging innovation.

Oct 18, 2014 9:27 PM in response to mannyvelby md9196,I am having the same problem with my new iPhone 6 from Verizon. Okay usually the screen get stuck in portrait mode and refuse to go back to landscape if I rotate it. I have to do a complete restart in order to fix this. I am sure it is a bug which needs to be fixed with the next update. I did leave a feedback through Apple for this product and hopefully many in this thread will do the same. Hopefully they will resolve this issue as soon as possible. I left feedback at this site and hopefully everyone here will do the same. http://www.apple.com/feedback

Oct 18, 2014 10:13 PM in response to Richinmurrayhillby machei,To be fair, it is still early, and they will hammer out the bugs. Every software release has bugs, and it doesn't matter who releases it. I promise you, Android has as many and more, and add to that the problems that arise from trying to get software to run on hardware that wasn't designed by the same people. You can go for the S4, but you'll likely discover what *real* flaws look like.
That said, I'm in agreement that this is a frustrating bug. Fingers crossed Monday's update will correct it.

Oct 19, 2014 12:02 AM in response to mannyvelby AllannD,I started having this problem on my 5s right after upgrading to IOS 8. Am running 8.02 and problem persists. Sporadic and not repeatable. I know if I take it to an Apple store it won't reproduce the problem.

Oct 19, 2014 12:52 AM in response to mannyvelby ih8Apple1,I Have iphon6 for two weeks....now I'm getting the same problem. I was at a party today showing a girl how to use pano on the camera. After I did a shot I opened the pic and it would not rotate to landscape. I felt like an idiot....and thought I did something wrong!
So I as the evening went on I took a few photos. When I got home I was flipping through them and there were 3 or 4 that were upside down. I know how to take photos...I've had every iPhone to date, except for the 6plus. When the **** is Apple going to fix this???

Oct 20, 2014 6:07 AM in response to Vahidfromnyby Smoky Valley Tech,I made a post on here a few weeks ago, and saw a reference to a potential fix. Try launching your Compass application and if/when the calibration wheel comes up, slowly roll the ball around to fill in the circle's edge. I'm guessing the accelerometers are having some trouble getting calibrated in 8.x for some phones.
I've not seen the issue for a couple of weeks (knock on wood), so hopefully it's fixed and that's what did it. ...and hopefully it will help some of you, too!
Good Luck!
