Is it a good idea to connect the printer via USB and install under that condition? Actually the printer is only connected via WLAN.
There is no need to connect the printer via USB. You can add it when it is connected to your WLAN.

Or: how can I prevent from installing Apples AirPrint version?
When you click the plus button to add a printer, if you see a small pop-up window appear with the iP7250 listed under the heading of Nearby Printers, do not select this entry. This will add the printer using the AirPrint driver. Instead, you need to click on Add Printer or Scanner in this pop-up. This will show the Add printer window with the Default view selected. Here you may see the iP7250 listed twice - one with the word Bonjour and the other with Canon IJ Network. If you select the entry shown as Bonjour, this will automatically select the AirPrint driver. But you can change the Use menu to the iP7250 driver that you installed. Alternatively, if you select the entry shown as Canon IJ Network, this will select the iP7250 driver.
