Canon IP7250: no longer DVD direct printing since 10.9.5

Since 10.9.5 it seems to be not possible to print directly on DVD. In the printer dialogue there are no longer choices to tell the printer that the DVD direct slot is preferred. I use DiscCover 3.0 to create the DVD covers. Printer type is Canon Pixma IP7250.

On Canons Support site I only find as the latest driver that one I have already installed.

Has anyone a clue how to solve this problem?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), 3,4 GHz Intel Core i5, 32 GB 1600

Is it a good idea to connect the printer via USB and install under that condition? Actually the printer is only connected via WLAN.

There is no need to connect the printer via USB. You can add it when it is connected to your WLAN.

When you click the plus button to add a printer, if you see a small pop-up window appear with the iP7250 listed under the heading of Nearby Printers, do not select this entry. This will add the printer using the AirPrint driver. Instead, you need to click on Add Printer or Scanner in this pop-up. This will show the Add printer window with the Default view selected. Here you may see the iP7250 listed twice - one with the word Bonjour and the other with Canon IJ Network. If you select the entry shown as Bonjour, this will automatically select the AirPrint driver. But you can change the Use menu to the iP7250 driver that you installed. Alternatively, if you select the entry shown as Canon IJ Network, this will select the iP7250 driver.

Check that you are not using Apple's AirPrint driver, as this will not give you any options to print on the DVD tray. You can open Printers & Scanners, select the iP7250 in the Printers list and then look at the pane on the right. In the Kind section, this will show if the AirPrint driver is being used.

If you are using the Canon iP7250 driver and not Apple's AirPrint driver then it must be an issue with the Disc Cover application, because you can still select the DVD tray from Canon's Easy PhotoPrint application on OS X 10.9.5.

Thanks a lot!

I already tried to install the original Canon driver. With no success what direct printing is concerned. And in Printers & Scanners the "IP7200series" has the suffix "AirPrint".

Is it a good idea to connect the printer via USB and install under that condition? Actually the printer is only connected via WLAN. Or: how can I prevent from installing Apples AirPrint version?

Thanks for further advice!

Greetings
