Complaint about Roosevelt Field mall apple store

I visited the Roosevelt field mall apple store and pre ordered my iPhone 6 plus the day pre orders became available and when i went to pick it up i was told that i had to wait until october because they sold my iPhone. I was supposed to get this for my birthday and now i have to wait about a month until i receive my iPhone. I think that this apple store in Garden city New york at the Roosevelt Field mall has horrible customer service. I don't understand the point of pre ordering a phone if they are going to sell it anyway. When i went in to pick it up they seemed clueless as to why my phone wasn't there and made me feel like it was my fault for it not being there. When i asked why it was sold they replied with "We are mailing it to you, you should get it sometime in october". No empathy or apology. So my review of this store is a 0 out of 10 for terrible customer service and logistics.
