Oct 9, 2014 7:09 AM in response to JohnMHoytby Star Traveler,There are millions in the installed user base and there are not millions here ... very simply ... :-) ...
In addition there are iPad 2 users who have reported here on this forum that they have upgraded without problems. In addition to those, there areiPad 2 users who have reported initial problems and have now reported solutions on this forum.
This shows that iPad 2 users who are having problems now ... have the proof that it is technically feasible to have their iPad 2 running normally. As everyone's problems and issues are different and they each have unique situations in their own machines, there will be no "one universal answer" to fix theirs. And that is already shown here on this forum, as the solutions I've seen reported by one user might not work for the next user.

Oct 9, 2014 8:04 AM in response to Star Travelerby Dan_Scott,Star Traveler: Even the guy at the Apple Store said he was feeling my pain, and was still having the same problems with his iPad 2. This was two days ago (October 7th). But I'm sure he was not as capable as the millions of satisfied users you are describing.
I think you work for Apple. If you delete this post too--one I think the forum would find very relevant--I promise to send at least 5 more emails to the technology journalists of major publications about this malfeasance, one of whom has emailed me back acknowledging Apple's history of "getting people to upgrade."

Oct 9, 2014 8:11 AM in response to Dan_Scottby Star Traveler,This is a "user helping other users forum" and not Apple employees answering tech support here. Thus, I'm a user like everyone else and not an employee of Apple and neither do I sell them or work for a subsidiary or retail establishment.
The people who do delete posts here are those whose job is to ensure that people stay on track for helping users with solutions or explaining how things work here ... according to the Terms of Use for this forum. If your post is deleted, it might be because griping and complaining is not part of the Terms of Use here, but rather providing solutions to users is.
You can contact Apple to register your complaint, though ... at this link that Apple has provided ...

Oct 9, 2014 10:33 AM in response to RottenApp!eby Star Traveler,So glad to see it working for you. It gives other users the expectation that they will get it to work for them!

Oct 9, 2014 10:44 AM in response to Philly_Phanby Dan_Scott,To the contrary, Philly_Phan.
I don't work for Microslop or Samsung (you said I worked for Samsung earlier). I had bad experiences with the S2, and can't wait to replace my PC.
Maybe I'm just someone that's upset that a device that greatly improved the quality of my life, and productiveness at work, was--needlessly--"updated" into obsolescence. And maybe I'm a little frustrated after having spent so much time--needlessly--working through the problems and trying to fix them, to no avail. Maybe, too, I'm just really bummed that the company I trusted and admired could let this happen and do so little to fix it (at least for the iPad 2's).
Technical advice: Try rebooting.

Oct 9, 2014 11:45 AM in response to pacoKASby Melidam,MY ipad2 has so many troubles after upgrade to ios8... ;-( even the touchscreen has problem. need to click ten times on a link to follow it. Incredible, i am a good customer got iphones, macbook pro, i use to recommand it to my family... I can't believe apple does consider like a cash machine to buy their new product. When you say quality, you mean ephemeral product for rich customer, right ?

Oct 9, 2014 11:57 AM in response to Melidamby mr88cet,I wouldn't be surprised if an AppleCare call or genius-bar appointment might be able to clear this up for you, and also result in a bug-report filing, to hopefully reduce the chances this will happen again.

Oct 9, 2014 12:07 PM in response to mr88cetby Melidam,Thank you for your answer, but SRSLY do i need a so called genious bar to support your upgrade ? I also have a nokia windows phone, and the upgrade to windows 8.1 made it faster. that is what i call a software upgrade. What you did was a performance downgrade for not so old devices. could you give me one example of software configuration which can restore my ios7 performances ?

Oct 9, 2014 12:13 PM in response to Melidamby Star Traveler,You're not talking to Apple here. Apple is NOT here on this forum. It is exclusively for users to talk to other users about any solutions that they may have found for issues. You are talking to fellow users and we have nothing to do with the writing of the system software or the apps.
If you would like to talk with Apple, they have an Apple Support page for that ...

Oct 9, 2014 12:20 PM in response to Star Travelerby Melidam,OK, thanks for your answer, and sorry for the misunderstanding, i thought apple people were on a apple.com forum. Anyway, i do system coding myself and i know that there is nothing regular in the way our systems are slowing down with ios8...

Oct 9, 2014 12:42 PM in response to Melidamby mr88cet,My iPad 4 slowed down by ... maybe 5% or so. That's probably the direct, expected effect upon performance. There's almost certainly though an unintended, much greater, indirect effect. With a little luck, there's at least a chance that they'll be able to figure out a common thread in the cases where it didn't come out right.

Oct 9, 2014 2:16 PM in response to Melidamby Star Traveler,MAKE A NOTE ... though ... fellow users ARE having success at solving their problems! And Apple hasn't changed a thing about iOS 8.0.2. Users are helping other users ...

Oct 9, 2014 2:22 PM in response to Dan_Scottby Star Traveler,You should also be letting people know that users are solving their problems WITHOUT Apple changing a thing about iOS 8.0.2 ... :-) ...
