ApplicationsHi,
I am sure there is only going to be one fix fro that.
You will need to Contact Apple Support and explain you have an Account/Apple ID issue with logging in to the iMessages server.
If you tell them it is an App or a Mac (hardware) issue they will try to charge you for an Out of Warranty problem when in fact the issue is the iMessages server.

ApplicationsPlease take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the issue is reolved. If there's no resolution after Step 3, post your results.
Step 1
Sign out of iMessage in the Accounts tab of the preferences dialog, then sign back in.
Step 2
Log out of your user account and log back in.
Step 3
Start the computer in safe mode and test, then restart as usual and test again.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.

Sep 23, 2014 6:51 AM in response to apple_customerby pikkubee,I could not login to imessage which made me crazy. I tried all the tricks advised on different forums. I finally called apple support in Hungary. I have a second hand mac mini mid 2010 out of warranty period for ages, but the guy was really nice and helpful. What I had to do was this:
OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer’s PRAM
And it worked. Now I can log in without any difficulties.
I hope this will hep you, as well.
Cheers

Sep 23, 2014 12:23 PM in response to pikkubeeby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
Resetting the PRAM/NVRAM does work for some issues of not signing in to the Server in the iMessages account in the Messages app on the Mac.
However there are now about 6 different error messages that the account can give you.
There are these 4 FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: Troubleshooting sign in issues.
A 5th involves a longer error messages with instructions to contact Apple Support, with a Code Number as in this pic.
I have not seen the reported error message that is quoted in the Original Post of this Thread.
Could not sign in to iMessages. The Registering Device does not have appropriate credentials
It can be the case that similar looking issues have different fixes and that the specific error message can help target the right "fix".
Did you have the same error message as the Original Poster ?
