How do I confirm that all data is backed up?

Can someone explain how to be sure ALL my data is backed up and restorable before I wipe my phone?

I don't want to "merge" data with other devices.

Last upgrade I lost many many things first, because some did not backup to cloud and then I lost more data by clicking the wrong choice in icloud merge or whatever. It sucked data off the phone!!!!!

I just want a complete Backup of all phone data

Hi ..

"I just told itunes to backup the phone but i see no evidence of backup on my computer."

On your Mac open iTunes.

From the menu bar click iTunes > Preferences then select the Devices tab.

If there's a backup available, it's noted there.
