Jan 3, 2015 8:18 PM in response to KULIK121by RPW1948,I just purchased two iPhone 6 Plus units and both have low volume. I called Apple support and the have no reports of such problems. I showed them this forum and they are taking action. I'm flabbergasted that they don't know about this.

Jan 3, 2015 11:07 PM in response to KULIK121by sterheggen,I have read this whole thread and tried a few of the suggestions. Nothing worked. I just got of the "chat" with Apple tech support. He and me go to SETTINGS, GENERAL, RESET AND RESET ALL SETTINGS. The phone took a minute or so to reboot, but the volume appears to be good now. He said that there are so many settings that this is the best way to make sure they are set back to factory. He said that something may have gotten changed in a backup or a software update. You will need to reset some personal things (WiFi and ringtones). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works. As of now, looks like it was definitely a software issue.

Jan 6, 2015 8:57 PM in response to sterheggenby micraman,Thanks sterheggen. I was experiencing these same problems and after doing a Reset All Settings the phone was working the way it appeared it should be. It took about ½ hour to go through my phone and restore all my previous settings, then checking to make sure the volume when using the phone was still adjustable, and it was.

Jan 11, 2015 4:53 AM in response to sterheggenby brian8m,i tried everything (all settings changes, visit to apple store).. right after each adjustment, i wanted the call volume to be better, and a couple times convinced myself that it was.. but in the end, i think it was the quiet of my home that made me think the call volume was corrected (phone noise cancellation idea did help though, but not enough).. didn't try the reset idea.. but too late now.. i was on a replacement 6+, on a sidewalk, slightly windy day, with a bit of traffic, and barely able to hear my caller.. the last straw.. 6+ a great phone, but loving my 5s now (coming from a 4s)

Jan 16, 2015 6:16 PM in response to KULIK121by aleenoz,I was freaking out with the low sound in my iPhone 6, however after a full day of panicking and booking Genius Bar appointments mine ended up being a foolish and easy fix. Apple's online support fixes helped, even if some of the solutions seemed quite obvious. My fix was through clearing the receiver. What had happened was the plastic screen cover (put on my iPhone by someone else) was blocking the receiver with parts that were meant to come out but had not. Hope this helps.

Jan 18, 2015 8:19 AM in response to brian8mby Orlando Castro,Try this first. When you are connected to a call press your sound up or down buttons on the upper left-hand side. If you have problems with the ringer on off switch, it is a switch not a push button. Somehow they, the cell phone service providers, neglected to tell all us manual-ignorants about the most important feature on a smartphone how to control the sound.

Jan 20, 2015 5:59 PM in response to sterheggenby AdmontVT,This appears to be a known iOS 8 problem. In my case the Apple chat representative said: "Since the bluetooth (my Bluetooth earphones which I previously had paired with the phone) was connected, Sometimes the volume doesn't change back to the regular settings after you stop using the bluetooth and use the earbuds." He's having me do a restore of the phone (7 hour download). I think I'm going to abort that and try your Reset All Settings soluiton instead. Hopefully the next iOS update will fix this problem.

Feb 8, 2015 3:10 PM in response to KULIK121by Morpheby,I've disassembled the body, removed the earpiece and put it back. It actually did the thing and the sound is back to normal. The earpiece connection seems to be quite prone to oxidizing. Obviously, I would NOT recommend doing this, better just bring your phone to AppleCare.
