Mar 8, 2015 7:51 PM in response to Kentter9by alister377,I had a problem with no volume at all when I rec'd a call or while trying to play music over my iPhone 6+. Started reading these posts which got me looking at settings. I turned my Bluetooth setting to off and the audio started working fine. Not necessarily a fix to all these problems but it worked for me. FYI

Apr 21, 2015 4:30 AM in response to Gary990by C.J. Roebuck,I also have a 64gb 6+ with very low call volume. Making a call while driving is nearly impossible. I tried reset settings, factory restore, bt off apple store and now doing mono audio but havent made a call yet. I purchased from Sprint in November 2014, actually my 2nd unit the first one earpiece was dead upon opening.
When i took phone to Apple Store the tech told me this volume was normal and he let me hear his which was also low. My phone does not have the protective cover on it but it does have the Glass Invisible Shield. My wife has the 6 with the same Shield and hers sound drastically louder than mine.

Apr 21, 2015 4:29 PM in response to kali58by DavidPeru,Same problem. For me at first the volume was fine (maybe a little bit lower than with my iphone 5, but not low enough to be bothersome). However, a few days ago I got a phone call and could barely hear the other person. I thought it was their issue but then it happened with every caller after that, the volume was so low I could barely hear them and I even had to appologize and hang up on a few callers. I also tried listening to old voicemail messages and those were barely audible as well. I tried everything mentioned in this forum and nothing worked. Resetting, restoring to default settings, deleting the phone and starting over, turning off noise cancellation, switching to mono...nothing. Then I read kali58's suggestion and thought I would just try, not really expecting it to work.
But it did work!
I dipped a Q-Tip in alcohol and rubbed it on the earpiece, then dried it with the dry end of the Q-Tip. I did it 4 or five times but it wasn't even coming out visibly dirty. Then I tried listening to a voice mail message and it did seem to sound louder, I did the Q-Tip thing a couple more times and then made a phone call and it DEFINITELY sounds normal now. Thank you kali58!

May 8, 2015 3:36 PM in response to DavidPeruby ILVTX,Just cleaned my earpiece with a Q-tip & alcohol, and I can hear again!! So if you've had your phone a while, try this before making a trip to, or calling, the Apple Store.

May 25, 2015 11:48 AM in response to KULIK121by Apple in PV,I had a similar volume issue after upgrading my software, and think I found a solution! My volume was super low for voice memos and voice mail, but OK for music (and fine with headphones), so not a hardware issue. I tried all of the "logical" ways to adjust, to no avail (side buttons, settings, etc). Then I tried this and suddenly my volume was fine again! (though could be coincidence?)
First, I had my voice message open and playing.
Then, I used the side volume button to adjust volume.
BUT, instead of saying "louder", I turned it all the way DOWN... then back up.
Voila! It worked!
I don't know if this triggered the iphone to respond to my volume adjustments again or what... because I (obviously) had tried to increase volume with this button over and over. I had just never decreased it, especially all the way down.
I'd be interested if this actually works or if it was a fluke!

May 31, 2015 12:49 PM in response to DavidPeruby mmh.neumann,Hello guys,
I made the similar experience that after about half a year of proper using the phone, earpiece volume dropped low all of a sudden.
The solution that worked for me was the Q-tip cleaning of the earpiece with some alcohol/perfume. Low-tech, but it did the job.
Have fun,
Michael
