macbook pro retina display backlight bleed acceptable?
My display is bleeding in the corners and in the top, do you think is acceptable or do you think I should go to apple to get it replace?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
We can't make that judgment. Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.
Looking at your picture, are you saying that when you use your rMBP in nearly pitch darkness with a black image on the screen, and probably with the brightness cranked up, some of the backlighting leaks through? Is that how you normally use it? If you went to Apple, how would you demonstrate it in a typically brightly lit Apple store?
I have the same rMBP model and had the same problem.
Last week I went to an Apple premium service centre and in two days they replaced an entire new screen to my rMBP. My rMBP is under apple limited warranty so I didn't need to pay nothing. But the salesman said if I wasn't covered by warranty I'd have to pay at least 1 thousand dollars to fix it. So, if you're still under warranty, go for it.
Hi,
Can You show us the new screen backlight?
had mine replaced under warranty, $1144 NZD!!!! mine was way less worse than yours but they replaced it anyway.
