I can't send email on new iPhone 6

I have the new 6. I have three email accounts coming to my phone. All will receive, but none will send. Each account is using a different provider, Comcast, Go Daddy, and Verizon. None can send and all give an smtp error. Friday I had the 4s and everything worked beautifully. Saturday got the 6 and now I can't send. I have deleted and reinstalled the accounts to no avail. At first I thought it was just Comcast but all are giving the same error. Any ideas?

Mail sending is done via the SMTP server. Check the listing you have for SMTP servers and ensure that you have the username and password information not only correct, but added in all sections. In some places where the iPhone says that it is optional, it isn't. When you removed all of the accounts and added them back, did all of the accounts verify?

Hello Chris,

I need your help! I have an iPhone 6 with 6 email accounts on it. 3 are from GoDaddy (stmpout.secureserver.net). I can receive email with all 3 accounts but cannot send. I called GoDaddy Customer Support, we tried reinstalling the accounts, ensured all fields had the correct information, re-entered passwords, and changed port settings but to no avail. The tech said that as she did everything she could on her end, she thought it was a 'local' issue since my phone can receive emails.

What should I do? I really appreciate your help!

So, the only accounts that you cannot send mail from are the ones hosted by GoDaddy? Are these POP or IMAP accounts? Does the inability to send mail happen just on cellular, just on wi-fi, or on both? If you go into your mail settings, how many different SMTP servers do you have listed? When you go to send mail with these three accounts, what is the exact error that you receive when you attempt to send?

Hello Chris,

I have 2 GoDaddy accounts on my phone, both IMAP, and 1 still works. the one that works has been on my phone for over 2 years. The newest one was added about 5 months ago. I updated the firmware today and was able to reinstall the new godaddy account at 11 am EST but stopped sending at 4:30 pm EST. Inability to send exists on cellular only. Aside from the account that doesn't send, there are 10 SMTP servers that are normally all off. I turned ON one for the older godaddy account and received the same error message "the username or password for rich@thinkconferencing.com is incorrect".

What can I do?

You have 10 different SMTP servers listed in your phone? That is ridiculous. Each account should be able to work with a single server. If this sending issue is only with cellular data, then I suggest you contact GoDaddy's support to find out if this could be a port issue that cellular data is not opening, or you need to change in your mail account settings. That is where I would go first if they are working with wi-fi. I would also work with them to verify what SMTP servers you need to keep and what you can get rid of.
