I'm living in Brazil. Here have only one Apple Store, in Rio de Janeiro.

I have no willingness to go to Rio to fix this issue, and i belive that they will do nothing for me.

Tomorrow, i'll call to Apple and show them this vídeo. I'll ask to talk with an Advanced Support.

I hope this problem is software.

    I call to Apple today.

The first Senior Advisor told me to go to an AASP to get other iPhone 6. I did not agree with this.

I called back and the second Senior Advisor open a case on the Apple Engineering with my problem.

He ask me to record a video with the problem, I said that here in this topic have the video, but they need that the video was recorded by me.

He ask me 24~48 hours to give me an answer.

I'll post here more informations tomorrow.

The Apple Engineering told that i have to restore my device as a new, dont install any apps, just test the device with only apps build in.

I recorded a video too and sent to the Senior Advisor.

I'll test my device as a new like him said and contact him if the problem persists.

I've noticed this on my 5s and my 4s prior to this. Usually happens when the phone gets a bit hot. I would assume that it's just the phone cooling itself down a little so that it doesn't overheat and die on you. Also people complaining that this is an iOS 8.x issue; this has been happening since iOS 6.x (at least). I've spoken to a number of people who have seen the same thing. I can put up with the screen dimming if it means the thing doesn't overheat. I'd rather have that than a *constantly* dim screen, or a stunted lifespan due to overheated components!

I had an iPhone 5 and had no problem regarding this issue. Then I bought the iPhone 6 and this started happening (probably because iOS8). I had another issue that didn't seem to be related with the first one: when I took a screenshot, a zoom feature appeared on my screen, wasn't able to solve this either. Have been trying to solve this for a while, with no luck. Went to Apple store, no luck. Believed I was crazy, gone through all the same things everyone here has gone through. Finally, I read this article that it seems to have solved our issue. Please try this, it worked for me: Go to Settings > General > Accesibility > Zoom > DISABLE ZOOM. Full brightness returns. Please let me know if this helps.

This advice: "Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > DISABLE ZOOM", just did the trick, and restored full brightness to my iPhone 5S.

    Thank you!

Hi I'm from México, and I have this f**ing problem since I got my iPhone 6, so i call apple and they replace my phone, but surprise!!! STILL HAPPENING, so i got a question... it's a hardware or software issue? I don't know, but the 2 iphone 6 that i got, came with this issue. I've already got an iPhone 4S,  several replacements of my iPhone 5 of 32 GB, and an iPhone 5 of 16GB and never, never, happened to me before. I'M GETTING FRUSTRATED right now... btw my english s.u.c.ks, but if i write in spanish, i doubt anyone could answer me... Someone guide me please!!.

La solucion que yo he utilizado es:

    AJUSTES-->GENERAL-->ACCESIBILIDAD

    y poner ZOOM en NO/OFF

con esto conseguí que la pantalla volviera a brillar

Ya probé con todo. Zoom esta en off. Aumentar contraste todo igual en off. Brillo automático igual en off.

The only way i have sort it out is, selling my iphone 6 and going back to my iphone 4S that, works really really well with iOS 8.3.

Im a gamer and its really frustrating to play like that!

La unica manera que lo solucione fue, vendiendo mi iphone 6 y, volviendo a mi iphone 4s que funciona de maravilla con iOS 8.3.

Juego mucho a juegos y es muy frustrante tener que jugar de esa manera!

Old thread but the same problem.  I have a 128G iPhone 6 (AT&T US based if it makes any difference.  Every time I play a game (especially StormRaiders airplane game), the screen's brightness dims after 5 minutes or so.  Also, often when I use safari the same happens.  Then it goes back to normal, dim, normal, etc., VERY frustrating.  latest iOS, 8.3.
