ios 8 calendar list view

I cannot get a list view of events in my calendar since I upgraded to ios 8. I have rebooted and no change. I go to the day view and hit the list icon and nothing happens. Is anyone else having this issue? The list view is what I always use.

I hope I can make this understandable. I found a link that explained it.

Say you are in the year view, with all 12 months shown. Click on the day button (December 4 for today) and you'll get the one month view. The icon to the left of the search icon will have a box stacked on two lines, like the calendar view on top of the list view. If you press that icon and toggle it, that's the view you'll get, the monthly calendar on top and the list on the bottom.

Now press on the icon and toggle it off. Then press on the "day" (December 4th for today's date) and you'll get the "day" view, with the full days appointments in calendar view mode. Notice the icon changes from the box over two lines (the "calendar over list" view) to three lines (the "list" view). Now touch that icon to toggle it on and you'll get the full list view for all your appointments.

Hope that helps. I've been frustrated for a couple of weeks and finally found a good link.

This may explain it better. http://www.imore.com/how-change-calendar-view-options-your-iphone-and-ipad

Thank you for such a clear and concise explanation to one of the silliest issues I have seen yet on iOS. I find that I can't do much anymore without Googling and research. To be forced to "learn" how to get all of the calendar views is the latest evidence that Apple continues to value form over function and change for its own sake. I have been an Apple user since the early 1990's and I think they make beautiful products, but I shake my head every day and wonder who designed and tested their software and why obvious things aren't obvious to them. I wish there was a better company - I had a better experience with my Motorola Q running Windows Mobile and Good Mobile Messaging. It didn't take so many steps and so much of my attention to do things, I could see my calendar on the home screen without having to remember to look at it, I could search for email and actually find it, I could file email with nested folders. My battery lasted all day. Again, thank you for teaching us how the calendar works!

This is my 6th smart phone and my first iPhone. Always had droids. Loved them but my kids wanted me to FaceTime on my phone not my Laptop since I travel a lot. I like my iPhone 6+ but the calendar was driving me crazy. Thank you so much. I have it working now and I still have some hair left on my head.

By the way, you can hit the search icon and hit he A key for Agenda and it will bring up the Agenda the way you like it but there were always some dates missing. Your suggestion works the way it is supposed to. I just found the A key by chance. Apple could not explain the problems I was having with my calendar--but you did. My free call service for Apple ended this weekend. Thanks so much.

It is confusing indeed. After having used both Week Calendar and Fantastical, I would prefer using my iPhone's 'native' calendar app though.

But what I miss the most, is the ability to switch from 'month-with-daylist' view to 'list-only' view, so between the 2 screenshots from the right in your post.

Just adding my findings to the group here; now let's hope somebody understood what I ment...😁

This is the view as given in image in message of ChrisJ4203 above I am looking forward to where one row of dates and balance events horizontallu are shown. I have done all options suggested here in this forum but not able get this after I accidentally clicked month view, I call it accidental as I knew in one previous occasion I had done so but could not go to this view again. Suddenly one day I found this view was available after this first click and could not know how it had come back. Today again I clicked month and the above view is gone. I wish Apple provide this feature.
