Q: Using an iPhone 5s or Mac Pro Peer to Peer with Apple TV with NO network

My Question later:

Using an iPhone 5s Peer to Peer with Apple TV with NO network:

Solution for this is:

Make sure Apple TV is updated to version 7 (not sure whether this necessary or not).

Make sure Apple TV has Airplay and Bluetooth on.

Update to iOS 8 if poss for your device.

You can leave both bluetooth and 3G/4G off on the iPhone if you want.

Go to the control center by swiping upwards and you should see the Airplay symbol (Airdrop also needs to be on)

next to it. Click on Airplay and choose Apple TV and click on mirroring.

Go to Photos choose a movie or photo, click on Airdrop and then click on the square box with an up arrow for sharing choices,

choose Airplay. The Movie or pic should show on your TV screen.

Either they speak to each secretly through WiFi or there is a WiFi to Bluetooth conversion anyway this works for me with no Wi Fi router switched on.

Thanks very much to the bright tech lady who pointed me in the right direction at the Apple Store West Quays Southampton.

Question: How can I peer to peer like above with a MacBook Pro 13 inch running Mavericks 10.9.5. baffled.
