Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi,

I have upgraded my iphone and followed everything to disassociate from my account.

I have turned off find my iphone, then erased the phone.

As a result, I can't see the old phone on find my iphone. Great.

BUT... if I go to iCloud.com, in "Settings", I can still see the old phone listed here, and can't do anything to remove it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

PLEASE PEOPLE! This is why Apple users get a bad name for being dumb and mindless. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ITUNES AT ALL! I had my iPhone replaced at Apple store and the kid said not to worry because they would wipe out phone. THEY OBVIOUSLY didn't sign out of iCloud correctly (they couldn't actually without my password.) I should have never listened to the "GENIUS" and just signed out myself. Now I have a device that is impossible to remove from the iCloud "Settings" my Devices list. THAT IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE PEOPLE!

THAT IS THE DEVICE LIST WE ARE TALKING ABOUT! HAS ZERO TO DO WITH ITUNES!!! That iPhone 6 to the right is the issue. Apple has it as it was defective and there is NO WAY of removing it. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING!

It is not too crazy to think that both databases of devices could be linked together even though they are separate systems (iTunes vs iCloud) so it was worth a shot.  The real problem here is that you should not have to sign out of iCloud.  When you do a restore to factory defaults on the phone that should sign a user out of all accounts and wipe all data on the phone.  That is not the case and apple does not have a system in place to go into an iCloud account and remove devices which are no longer in use with an iCloud account.  Hopefully they will come up with a fix for this in the future.

Exactly. The thing is - the phone I cannot remove doesn't show up in find my iPhone. It only shows up in the "MY DEVICES" list in iCloud settings. A simple way to remove these devices here would be nice. It is all that we need... But not available. I am sort of relieved when I know it is an error that cannot be fixed by me! LOL

Success! I've had this problem too - and finally my old device has disappeared from the list under Settings on iCloud.com Interestingly today is 2 months since the iPhone 6 was launched, and mine was delivered and set up. Perhaps the removal of old devices mentioned earlier happens every 2 months rather than every 90 days.

Yep confirmed here too.  Fixed.  My only issue that still exists is that it has a (3) next to my computers name in my device list now.  My computers name is HOSSMAC but it says HOSSMAC (3) in my device list.

My ghost devices have been removed as of today (which is the 90 count). I guess it does work.

I'm not convinced this has happened on any sort of days counted basis, (as far as individual devices are concerned), it is less than 8 weeks since I discovered I had this issue, and it looks like everyone seems to have been fixed at once.

Looks like maybe 60 days. My old 4s finally dropped off. Got iP6 on launch day (Sept 19th). Wife's old device I signed out of iCloud before erasing and it went away immediately.

We are having the same problem.  Surely Apple will get a fix for this at some point.

We followed the proper procedure for turning off Find My Phone on both our iPhones, erased all and full reset.

We no longer have those 2 iPhones.

Was discussing another issue with Apple Support.  They had me go and register the 2 new iPhones and remove the 2 old devices supportprofile.apple.com.

They said that should remove it from the iCloud device list within a few hours.  It has been over a week, and they are still listed.

Wish the instructions had included that you should logout of iCloud on the device as well as turning off Find My Phone.
