Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi,

I have upgraded my iphone and followed everything to disassociate from my account.

I have turned off find my iphone, then erased the phone.

As a result, I can't see the old phone on find my iphone. Great.

BUT... if I go to iCloud.com, in "Settings", I can still see the old phone listed here, and can't do anything to remove it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

My old device was finally removed from iCloud.com Settings. I didn't do anything. Just checked it today and it was gone. I believe it was inactive for about 30 days since I got my new phone. Good luck.

    Hi folks.

Just thought I'd share another solution to this. I sold an iPhone5 to someone and despite the phone no longer being in the Devices list on iCloud, they were still unable to register as according to apple the phone was still registered to me.

The issue turned out to be that the iPhone 5 was still registered on my support profile.

If you go to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and remove the device from your apple id, as well as your Devices list, your buyer will then be able to register their iOS device.

Didn't help me because I sold the old iPad mini before I realized there would be a problem deleting it from iCloud.  I wiped it clean, restored to factory settings, took out the old SIM card, but still my old iPad mini shows as one of my devices.

I have the same issue, but will wait the 60 days as so many have stated. I did make sure that my device was removed from both the support profile site and from trusted devices.

This is what I did to resolve the iCloud ghost device. I received my new iPhone 6 this Friday November 28th 2014.

    1. I set it up as a new iPhone updated (changed) and confirmed my iCloud Keychain security code.

    2. I went to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and verified the ghost device was not listed.

    3. I went to https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage/security and confirmed the device was not listed as a Trusted device.

Of course, if you didn't trust any device none will be listed.

    4. Since I also have my photos backup with Google+ and OneDrive I deleted the previous phone iCloud backup. You can also download them all to your phone and back them up in the new iPhone identity.

I believe that was all the steps I performed. I am not sure which one fixed the problem, but when I looked this morning the ghost device was gone.

In other words remove any reference of the old device from any and all possible places that it could have created a references. If I remember any other step I will come back and update this post.

Mine is still showing on my support profile but it just doesn't process when I click the Remove Product button and displays the spinning circle perpetually as screenshot indicates below:

However, when I've checked the serial number here: https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/, it said it would be fine for a new owner to register it with iCloud.

Just like the other posters, I thought I'd cleared my old phone off the system only to find it again in iCloud settings

I managed to remove the phantom device by going to Preferences—Internet Accounts—Manage (Storage)—Backups on my MBP and removing the back up for my old iPhone 5.

When I checked back later to iCloud settings it had disappeared! Everything looking as it should be now.

    Thanks for that info.

I don't use iCloud to backup my devices. Available storage still shows 5GB out of 5GB for me.

Phantom device is still there on iCloud.com under Settings > Devices though I did delete my iCloud account from my iPhone and then used Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to wipe it.

Well, interesting: I just did the same thing with a second device set up with a different iCloud ID and following the instructions worked!

The device is no longer listed under Settings > Devices  when signed into iCloud.com for that ID.

    Details?

Did you have a phantom device listed also? And this is the one that is now gone because you followed the instructions - so this means you were still in possession of it?
