Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi, Have the same issue and followed known practises, signed out of "find my iPhone' erased all content and settings, removed from list of trusted devises prior to selling my phone.  Thought all was fine, not so when the old phone shows up on the devises page in iCloud.

Even reset my Apple login password and the phone is still there.

The solution (for those lucky people that still have access to they devises) is that before erasing the unit you HAVE to not only turn off "Find my iPhone" but ALSO sign out of iCloud prior to erasing the devise.

I hope Apple will find a solution for this other then to set up a new login.

i don't have the device anymore and feeling a little OCD myself about it.

I called Apple Support about this and they contacted engineering. You cannot delete a "phantom" device, but it will remove itself after a set period of time. Unfortunately, they don't know what period...

Just a question : did someone try to click on "Sign out of all browsers currently signed in to iCloud.com" on the top of the page ?

Thats ridiculous, you would think they know how to simply just remove it. I have the same problem and now because my icloud is 'full' it will no longer backup my new phone

Agree this is bad and should get fixed a.s.a.p But it has nothing to do with you running out of space. Separate issue all together.

You are managing storage separate and are able to delete old backups using iCloud. What this refers to is that an old device is still listed as owned and we are not able to clear it from the page even if it is long gone.

Yes, I have that problem that I cant clear my old iphone also. But i am also getting the messages that my icould is not able to back up. I thought the problem was related

Two different problems, On the storage issue you can delete/manage the size of your backups alternative purchase more space using your iCloud account settings.

The problem with listed old devises are unrelated.

Here's a fun one..

I have the same situation, but it was on a Mac.  I had a Mac on the Yosemite seed program, left the company I was with and the Mac was wiped, never got the opportunity to sign out of iCloud, Mavericks was imaged back on to it.

So, in my devices list, I have a 21.5" Mac with Yosemite on it that I can't remove!
