Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi,

I have upgraded my iphone and followed everything to disassociate from my account.

I have turned off find my iphone, then erased the phone.

As a result, I can't see the old phone on find my iphone. Great.

BUT... if I go to iCloud.com, in "Settings", I can still see the old phone listed here, and can't do anything to remove it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

    Same problem for me.

Recently sold my iPhone 5s after upgrading to a 6. I removed the phone from iCloud and wiped it comletely but it's still showing in my devices list on iCloud.

I believe this is now why none of the new features of OSX Yosemite are working for me (hand off, calls, sms etc).

Anyone found a surefire fix for this yet?

Rest assured this has nothing to do with your inability to use hand-off or anything else. The problem is that you did not log out of iCloud before wiping the unit.

This is simply a page that shows your current AND previous devises that was logged in to iCloud, and not logged out of your account.

All the new features are done locally via bluetooth and wifi and is not related to iCloud.

As far as fix? Nothing as of now, (talked to a senior rep and she had the same issue) only way this can currently

be done is by logging in to iCloud on the affected device and log out. If you do not have access to the device you are out of luck.

    Separate issues I think.

I've still got a 'stale' iPad showing, but handoff was already working between new iPad Air and my existing iPhone 5S.

Handoff is working between iMac + Yosemite and both iOS devices today.  Just checked Calls from iMac are working OK, but I've also read somewhere that SMS from the Mac won't be available until iOS 8.1 is available - assumed to be next week.

    Edited:

Does 'Handoff' have an on/off slider tick box somewhere in Yosemite? - yes it does under Settings>General, near the bottom of the listed options.

I did go back into my old iPhone 4s and turn off Find My iPhone AND signed out of iCloud before deleting everything to wipe the phone.  Still it appears on iCloud, so it appears only Apple can remedy the situation.

Thank you for the help benoit. it worked on my iPhone 5 but now i have a dilemma, when i first received my 6+ it had a defect with the screen making clicking sound when you pressed against it. I took into the Apple Store where they swapped it out for another and we went through the routine of erasing the old one but not to the extent of how you explained it. So guess what's still showing in iCloud.com? Both 6+ devices. The one I returned and the one i have in my hands. So i hope Apple can come up with a way for us to get rid of the one that's no longer in use.

I have a similar problem, as I was trying the Public Beta of Yosemite on a external hard drive that is connected to my iMac, while keeping the onboard hard drive with Mavericks intact. In doing so I set it up as a new computer though it's the same iMac with pretty much the same name just added Yosemite in parenthesis to tell apart. Well now that Yosemite is out and I've upgraded from Mavericks, it's keeping the name I setup on the beta but still realizing it as the same computer. I tried signing out of my iCloud (iMac) and saw that it disappeared on the iCloud website only for it come back as this name again once I setup iCloud back on the iMac . My thinking was that since I have the correct name I want on my iMac, it will overwrite on the iCloud website but that doesn't seem to be the case. I no longer have the beta on that external hard drive since its been erased and reformatted. Really would like to fix this issue as well.

I have the same issue   Have sold  my iPhone 5  deleted it from  my iCloud  account, as  the instructions provided  by the vodafone.    Just  logged in a few weeks after a successful sale  and the  iPhone 5 is still listed  in my iCloud settings under devices  seems to be  no way to remove it

I have  opened  find  my phone  and  it  is not  listed there  presumably  that is  how  i was successful at selling  it  ( Dyer waning from vendor  if   not removed  from iCloud  the sale  would  not proceed )

i do hope there is no chance of iCloud sharing information with this  device

is this issue just a visual annoyance or is there some sort of functional vulnerability to it.

I too am having this issue. I have two previous iPhone 5s devices listed even though I use an iPhone 6. I believe this has caused an issue with me being unable to send and receive iMessages from my Mac, though text messages work just fine.

Neither device is in my possession any longer so hopefully someone gets to the bottom of this sooner...

I sold an old iMac, Mid-2010 to a coworker's daughter.  I did a 3-pass erase of the HDD while re-installing Mavericks 9.0.4 but the poor design of Apple's Mac is having to sign in to iCloud during initialization.  After I set it up I signed out of iCloud, never having saved my ID and password in Keychain.  It shows up in iCloud under devices but when I try to locate it it says OFFLINE under ALL DEVICES.  If you click on it it tries to locate it again and when it fails it gives you the option to Remove the device stating it will show up again when it connects to the internet.  Hopefully it doesn't reappear!  I guess I could use the ERASE option in that case but will it??  The coworker said his daughter was going to reinstall but then said something to the effect she went right to using it.

I'm suffering this too with an iPhone 5S that I log out of everything from, but it's still there....
