Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi,

I have upgraded my iphone and followed everything to disassociate from my account.

I have turned off find my iphone, then erased the phone.

As a result, I can't see the old phone on find my iphone. Great.

BUT... if I go to iCloud.com, in "Settings", I can still see the old phone listed here, and can't do anything to remove it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

iCloud came out before iOS 8 and Yosemite.  It was not introduced with either of them.  For me all of my devices I have had since iCloud started are showing up.  My iPhone 5, my iPhone 5s and now my 6+.

Same here, do not have that option that you mentioned and others said.

That is true but the devices displayed under settings is a new feature that was implemented during the iOS 8 transition, and thus it shouldn't display anything that is not running the two current operating systems.

Well you are correct about it not showing devices here but it did show devices in the tracking portion where you can track the location of devices.  I am not sure what is going on but as you can see in the picture I posted they are all there and one them even though it is an iPhone 5 it gave it the name of my mac.

I have two (2) trusted iOS 8 devices associated with my Apple ID and the same two (2) devices also show up on Find My Phone.  However, a third "phantom" device I no longer have in my possession still shows up in the iCloud.com/Settings My Devices page.  I am sure I signed out of iCloud before I reset that device and got rid of it!

There is no successful method to delete this "phantom" device from iCloud.com Settings/My Devices that I know regardless of what is being stated by others without having the actual device in your possession.

It's up to Apple to fix this on their end!   Until that happens I'll live with the minor annoyance.

This worked for me...granted I still had the old device as I was gifting down to my daughter, I had to erase the iPad mini that I just got done setting up for her with apps, etc. I first turned off find my iPad, then I signed out of iCloud, then erased all content and settings. I set up the iPad as the user that had it before, but set it up as a new device, to save time. Once all set up and signed into the old icloud account, I turned off find my iPad and signed out of iCloud, then reset and erased all content again. Then set up the iPad back to my daughter with the last back up under her ID, signed back into iCloud.

Involved work around, but worked in the end...again, this would only work if you still had the device. Best to turn of find my iPhone/iPad and then sign out of iCloud, before erasing and selling/giving a device. I will always remember to do this going forward after this issue!

    Good luck!

    SAME ISSUE HERE!

My old iPad can not be booted successfully, so I got an replacement in Apple Store. And I did not have a chance to log out my iCloud account and turn off "Find my iPhone" because that iPad can not be booted at that time. I asked Genius when I got the new one, he told me it doesn't matter. I logged in iCloud.com found that the old one is off-line. I deleted it from "Find my iPhone". Now, I can't see it under "Find my iPhone", but it appears in Settings-My Devices. It's so annoying that I have no idea whether this issue will show my contacts, notes etc. to the next user.

I also check the activation lock on that web page. It says "off". Does that mean I have deleted it from my Apple ID successfully?

Any help will be appreciated! THX!

Same issue here. My old 5S and a replaced 6+ are showing up.

This is almost as annoying as my Apple ID still showing as @me.com in some places.

    First world issues I guess...

    Hi

How can you know that your id is still showing as @me.com in some places?

When I look at my iTunes ID, it shows as @me.com.

Ex: When I go to login to my iTunes Account, it will accept my @icloud.com, but when it shows the account, it is @me.com.

In regards to this issue, I'm actually OTP with Apple support. I referenced this thread, so hopefully they can fix it on the back-end.

Do you have to fully activate your old iPhone or can you simply set it up and sign in and sign out. Also will doing so effect my new iPhone

I have the exact same problem. I no longer have the two "phantom" devices showing up in "My Devices" therefore can't follow the steps discussed here.  Can't believe Apple did not think of this Use Case and hasn't even came up with a solution yet.  Oh well, they just released a "de-register" solution for iMessage and that issue has been going for quite a while now. Ugh!
