If you are having issues connecting to the iTunes and App Store, then check out the article below to go over some setting on your iPhone to make sure that you can access them. One of the other thing to do, is make sure that you are up to date as a new software update was just released for iOS.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store

Oct 23, 2014 6:17 PM in response to The Yamanby JM4522,★HelpfulExactly the same problem with my iPhone 5. Appstore keeps looping asking the password again and again. Seems it starts downloading, but quickly revert back to show the price of the app (Free) If I Hit it, it ask for the password again and again.
Same thing on another AppID on an iPad.

Oct 23, 2014 6:31 PM in response to JM4522by JM4522,Go to Settings->iTunes & App Store
See if you have your Apple ID setup in there. If you have, you could try signing out and signing back in again.
Hope this helped. It worked for me.

Oct 25, 2014 8:32 AM in response to Selt75by hoosierquilt,I did, I kept getting an error message telling me something to the effect of, "Cannot connect to iTunes store, (error -3212)" when trying to update my apps. In doing some Google searching, I found another Apple Forum thread that suggested that if you nave Norton, go in and change your settings. I went into the Firewall settings, and searched for "itunes" and changed the setting from "Auto" to "Allow". That fixed my connection issues to the iTunes store and was able to update my apps.

Nov 18, 2014 4:34 PM in response to Selt75by PamelaNZ,★HelpfulI fixed this on my iphone 5. I could sign on from my laptop but not my iPhone so I knew my account was valid.
The following worked for me:
Go to Settings, ITunes & App Store, select "Apple ID: <id_name>", select "View Apple ID", enter password.
It seemed that you need to synchronise the account credentials stored on your phone with those in the App Store.
Bah humbug!

Nov 22, 2014 8:46 PM in response to JM4522by mrvalli,Great, the tip of signing out and signing in to Appstore worked after I was crazy why my iPhone 6+ did not connect to the App Store. Thanks for the tip. So go to Settings -> iTunes &App Store -> clike the Apple ID and sign out and sign in again with your password and it just worked fine.
Thanks for the tip, the forum really helped than going thru round and round with the lousy apple online support.
I say this since I have had a problem to 'Backup' or 'Restore' or 'Sync', none of this worked with my iPhone 5 when after I updated to IOS 8.0.1 when I wanted to restore that data to my iPhone 6+, for two months there is an open support with Apple online support the guys talk so sweetly on the phone and on the chat and as if there sooo... much committed but never call back to settle the issue after putting it off to check with engineering team. The error says 'Cannot backup due to an error', that is all. I finally gave up and setup my iPhone 6+ as a new phone and trying to recover data from one App to other, it is really painful.
I really gave up hope Apple is the greatest company with this experience till today the bug is not resolved.

Nov 22, 2014 9:02 PM in response to mrvalliby PamelaNZ,So glad this helped people. I haven't posted to Apple forums before so happy my advice has been useful.
Failed backups seems to be caused because the iphone is trying to backup over the version created for the previous iOS. It seems you need to delete the old backup and create a completely new one.
