When do purchases download?

I bought an HD movie via the Apple TV interface yesterday evening. 26 hours later the Apple TV still does not have the movie viewable. Despite my Apple TV and my MBP having the same Apple ID, iTunes on my MBP does not have the movie and doesn't find it when I check for downloads. The Apple TV is plugged in and online all the time. Signal strength is strong on the Apple TV. We watch Netflix on it without any problems so it is not a bandwidth issue on my end.

How can I get the Apple TV to download the movie I paid for! 😠

Hello clb5,

If you cannot see the movie in your Purchased section on your Apple TV, then I would report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Report a problem with an item you bought from the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store

Is this a purchase or a rental? If so see below

Apple TV doesn't have any accessible storage, if you go under purchases you should see it there

It won't appear automatically on your MBP. You would have to go into the iTunes store (quick links - purchased) and download it.
