iPhone 6 won't work on new Toyota. Bluetooth issue

I have an iphone 6. I paired it to my new 2014 Toyota Highlander. however I cannot get the phone to work through the car. Both the phone and the screen in the car indicate Bluetooth is connected but phone won't work. My iPhone 5S worked fine on the vehicle. I don't want the new phone if it won't work with my vehicle. I have tried everything and took it into the dealership as well as calling Apple tech support. No one seems to be able to help me. Any suggestions?
