Hello fellow partners, i have just updated my iphone 5s to iOS 8 and suddenly all notificactions, text messages and calls stopped using vibration to alert me, i have to use my phone now on sound instead of mute, i have checked all settings and turned on all of them, even when I toggle the switch it doesnt vibrate, is it a hardware or software problem? Am I the only one with this issue?

I'd like you to please isolate this issue to determine if your iPhone needs to be serviced. To isolate it, please back up your device, and then restore it to its factory settings in iTunes. If the issue persists, then please seek service.

I've had the same problem since upgrading to IOS 8.0.2.
The only way I could get the vibrate to work on silent was to go into Settings / Sounds / Ringtone. Then for my current Ringtone, I set Vibration to one of the patterns available (initially it was set to 'none').

thank you Andy for a workaround. I have an iPhone 5 and been facing the problem since I updated to ios 8.1.1 from 7.
Apparently the update makes the vibrate pattern to "none", setting it to something else ( I set it to rapid) and then back to Alert ( default) sorts the problem out.

as mentioned above i did all the steps and after restoring my iPhone 5s i selected the vibration type but still the problem persists
is it the hardware problem?

Absolutely the same problem. Restoring/changing vibration pattern didn't help. 5s/iOS 8.1.2

Settings>Notifications>Phone/Messages>Notification Sound>Vibration(make sure Vibration isn't set to NONE)

I Have the same problem. i missed to answer many calls cause it doenst vibrate. Is it software of hardware problem? Pleaseee help
Did anyone find a solution to this? I am facing the same problem. On switching to silent mode, sometimes it vibrates on calls and sometimes it does not. Sometimes the switch on turning to silent makes to phone to vibrate and sometimes even that does not happen.
