Imac - should I buy fusion drive?

Hello there,

I am planning to buy an imac. I would mainly use it just for normal internet usage like browsing, managing photos, but occasionally I would need to access to my company network which needs to be in WINDOWS and some enterprise applications that I need to run like MS outlook, ERP system, things like that.

I am thinking to install a VM (VMware, Parallels are the names I found) and install Windows on it.)

Currently I am looking at 2.7GHz with 8GB RAM. I was just wondering whether I should also get the 1TB fusion drive. Thoughts?

I would recommend what Apple has to say about the Fusion drives and then decide. Their primary advantage is the speed they have over conventional HD's. I have a Mac Pro that was in need of a speed increase, I created a DIY Fusion Drive and really have found the performance increased to be worth the time and money of doing that.

Sure!! got for the Fusion Drive if you can.

This is a speed up you feel every day, it's not like the difference between an i5 vs i7, which only feel the difference if you use heavy tasks or something, it performs every day in everything you do, I purchased an iMac with Fusion Drive and I can highly recommend it. 😉
