Q: iPhone 6 health data is gone

I got my iPhone 6 on launch day and it was immediately tracking steps, flights climbed and total mileage. Today, after 6 PM all that data disappeared and the health app dashboard was empty. I can't seem to get my data back even after I've re-added those three items to the dashboard. If I go to show all data, it just tells me there is no data.  I have rebooted the device, but everything is still blank.

I can't seem to find anything online where this was working and then it stopped, nor data cleared out.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have been having the same issue. I can't even assign any metrics to the dashboard screen. I read that a couple of people were told by apple to restore to a new phone which is total bull. I can't imagine we all have corrupt data in an app that is only two weeks old.

Why can't apple just be honest about issue this way we all don't have to stress wondering if it is just our device.

    I have Iphone 6 128 GB IOS 8.02

So far the best solution and least disruptive is to turn your phone off and back on again.

    The data should return.

I'm still having issues with the app displaying current data as and when it is updated within the synced apps.

There should also be facility that prevents data duplication. Having several running apps all measuring steps has led to this.

This is the workaround I use at present.

Each evening I restart my device to check the data.

    5s

    8.0.2

No data ever has ever pulled up in Health. I have tried several apps from different developers and none of them have ever imported. Health sharing settings are all set up correctly. I had a **** of a time uninstalling and reinstalling Health linked apps. Even after they were uninstalled (settings and data deleted) Health still saw them, but the icon was the placeholder icon. Reinstalling them was a complete pain. Took 3 hours to get MFP reinstalled. Health is completely broken for me.

Full restore isn't an option for me, so I'll wait for 8.1.

I think the OP should remove the solved status as it's clearly not solved. Probably not even fully in 8.1 (still in preview status).

Best advice, unless you enjoy uninstall/install cycles, rebooting, recovering, etc, is to wait until 8.1 and check again.

This just happened to my phone. All of a sudden my dashboard was blank and I could not get an widgets to appear. Rebooting the phone didn't help. I did a hard reset (hold home and power) and then my dashboard came back.

I had the same problem today did a hard reset and all is back. Press and hold the power and him keys together. Keep held until the phone has gone black, the apple logo has appeared and disappeared again. Then let go of the buttons and turn the phone on. Hope this helps for the rest of you.

I have the same issue with my 5S.

Data just disappears and my dashboard gets cleared. When I re-add my dashboard items, sometimes they 'stick' - sometimes they dont - but even when they stick - they simply get cleared again later.

    Quite annoying.

Glad I found this thread because I thought I was the only one having problems. My data in the Health app is definitely corrupted somehow. I use it with Endomondo, Endomondo Life, and MyFitnessPal and nothing is synching or displaying properly. Hopefully, when 8.1 drops on Monday, these issues will all be resolved.

Mine has completely righted itself. A few hard re-sets and its all good now.

I generally re-start my phone once a week so maybe that has something to do with it.

All my data is now recorded and showing up accurately.

Thanks BVsmurfette this did fix the problem and all my data restored to the dashboard. As you say hopefully the IOS8.1 update will fix this permanently.

Another potentialily bigger issue with health data is the fact it doesn't seem to be backed up, so if you need to restore the phone or replace it you'll lose all the data!

some health apps such as human are able to re-sync the historic data back to health, but most don't

Small update before 8.1 drops. Turns out that even MANUAL entry isn't  recognized by Health. it gives me the option to do it but as soon as I hit add, it disappears.

I've recently found that after the app crashes all data returns

i can crash it by going to data sources and going into each source one by one.

So far so good with 8.1. Appears to be working correctly. Had a few recent entries missing since the last time health locked up (dashboard blank) yesterday. With Map My Run I had to delete and re-enter a workout. With My Fittness Pal The app will repost the data if you edit a quantity for each meal. Sleep cycle app reposted the missing data without needing to edit anything.
