Battery life expectancy

What is better for the battery life expectancy?

Keep the device connected on power supply, even though the battery is fully charged, or disconnect the power supply cable using the battery charging?I have a MacPro 13 with retina display.

You can keep it connected to the power supply most of the time. But use it on battery about once a week. When you do, recharge it when the battery reaches about 20-25%. Other than that: avoid high temperatures (>35°C/95°F).
